Darkfallen Allied Race incoming

I agree. But on the logical as well as personal belief that; the more of the same races you add into the game. The more watered-down and degraded it becomes. But also because the majority of players (Although this is ‘loose’ speculation, don’t take my word for it.) DO NOT want more of the same. Having the races introduced in Legion and BFA was more than enough.

edited: I would also like to note; that I’m noticing some of these ‘hawks’ want to push through with it regardless. While that’s all well and good. It feels to me as a player. A little too forced. For this whole mega-thread thing ‘in general’ has been going on far too long. But this is merely my opinion.

The Darkfallen were exclusively high elves, so no.

In the Sylvanas book, Darkfallen are any special raised undead. This includes night elves. It even goes into detail about the San’layn being Darkfallen as well as the Dark Rangers. It’s lore in the book, but not in game anywhere that I know of.

I have to assume because Calia is raised as an enlightened undead, in Before the Storm, and later brought into BFA as being sparkly undead(none of this is in the lore in game) that the books are now game lore even if it isn’t explained in the game itself. Darkfallen lore was specifically explained in the book.

they were yea. but now darkfallen is just a catch all for undead elves it seems. and since the kaldorei are dark rangers…id say they are darkfallen too. i could be wrong tho

The noises definitely seem to be come from Salandria and the other NPC. That’s an unfortunate blow.

Someone isn’t up to date on their lore.

BFA pre-order was required for the three I mentioned when they released, but okay

In the most recent book I believe they categorized night elves to also be darkfallen which I suspect is for the sole purpose of a potential allied race.

Only time will tell if night elf fans will like having undead in their community and I doubt blood elf players will accept this as the thing to fill the gap in their identity.

you could say the same with the number of furry races…

theres a quest called dark ranger round up where you are tasked with creating new dark rangers at the battle for darkshore. it basically establishes that the night elf forsaken feel abandoned by elune and are pissed off. they are where they want to be

Nathanos Blightcaller says: When the night elves lie dead at your feet, call on Brynja to raise them.

  • A val’kyr accompanies you to raise the dead. Sometimes Angry Wisps emerge. If the slain night elf does not desire to be raised again, Brynja will say:

Brynja says: There are no willing souls nearby.

  • When you raise a kaldorei dark ranger, Brynja will say:

Brynja says: Not even death can stop you now.

Brynja says: Rise, and serve once again.

Brynja says: Death calls you home.

Brynja says: You have been given another chance.

If the Lost Wisp is following you and Brynja is summoned, she will say:

Brynja says: It appears this lost soul wishes to follow you. Perhaps we should bring it back to Nathanos.

and then when sira and delarynn are raised they briefly have an exchange with tyrande

Tyrande Whisperwind says: You must fight the shadow in your hearts, sisters!

Sira Moonwarden says: We placed our faith in you.

Delaryn Summermoon says: And you abandoned us. Elune abandoned us!

Delaryn Summermoon says: We have nothing left. We are forsaken.

Tyrande Whisperwind says: Never again. Ash thoribas!

so the night elves that come back are vengeful. they wouldnt follow tyrande again. alliance arent getting a forsaken themed race and there arent even any among them

I think I’d prefer all darkfallyn to be horde simply because of the intimate link they have with forsaken and the fact dark rangers themselves had always been elite troopers of the forsaken.

Blizz do not add darkfallyn to the alliance please.

i mean ofc anything is possible in the future(although unlikely) and the lore can be contrived to give alliance another horde theme and race but yea, this

Blizzard is a small multi-dollar company that has to reskin a warlock pet for their new playable race.

Do you really think they have enough resources for not one, but TWO more allied races?

That would cost Bobby his last new yatch.

I’m hoping Darkfallen get added and that it includes options for San’layn.

Yup. Pretty good usage of it too.

Well, we did get Darkfallen customization options.

So it would be another allied race both sides have access to. As we have found out some of the undead NEs have sought to return to their people.

Edit - I didn’t see this was an older topic. I guess in a way you were right, we did get the “theme” for dark rangers.

yeah, really disappointed it was only a cosmetic option, but what can you do at this point?
