Where do we see her role / story heading?
I’ve really liked her since BFA she was the original reason why I felt like we would see dark ranger options at some point (we got them), she is seen in the Blood Elf heritage quest having fallen defending Quel’thalas, and now occupies a role on the Desolate Council.
I rather am optimistic for how they can have her in story in the future, I feel like I want to see more story from her, and am curious where her story can go / is going.

Don’t know about Velonara specifically but the Dark Rangers in general are definitely set up for playing an increasingly important role in the Forsaken society and I find that rather exciting.
The big question that remains is that of the Kaldorei Dark Rangers… I’ll probably die alone on this hill but I really want Sira Moonwarden to return and lead the Horde undead Kaldorei because I think it’d be a good way to tell an interesting story about how to confront and accept Undeath and how to overcome grief and anger by giving in to a new path and a new identity

I wouldn’t be surprised if Blizzard gave her a new model and tries to prop her up as the “replacement” for Sylvanas. Seeing as we are minus one scantily clad undead elf archer she wouldn’t be the worst replacement in the world.
No, Sira should either be put down by Tyrande or she should end up being the representative of the night elf dark rangers. And considering we are not going with the former, the latter it is.

Great, and also, I want to know more about her mother who was tortured by the Scarlet Crusade.

You mean the Alliance Kaldorei Dark Rangers ? Delaryn Summermoon would make much more sense in that role imo. Sira’s beyond returning to the Alliance

Honestly, none of the risen night elves should have remained Horde.

Oh heavens no. She doesn’t remotely represent them. She should be hunting Maiev with the same fury and obsession Maiev channeled into Illidan.
Honestly, I think Night Elf Dark rangers was a horrible move, because it comes out of the Night Elf genocide plot that I hate, and the Night Elves joined the Horde that killed them unprovoked. Nasty plot.

She is a poor Sylvanas replacement. More so then Calia even. She is a dark ranger minus the edge others like Areiel and Lyana have.

Sira has had this inexplicable obsession with oversized flightless avians. Let her follow that path.

We have Delaryn Summermoon for that. She lost faith in Elune after she failed to save her people. Her click quotes give me chills.
Same!!!
Velonara after Sylvanas had dialogue iirc where she spoke about how both the Forsaken & Blood Elves were their kin & I really liked that line.
I think there’s an aspect of Sylvanas / the story of elves of who fell in defense of Quel’thalas that obviously appeals to Blood Elf fans too, so I really hope for several portions of the fan base Velonara’s story moves forward in positive ways that Sylvanas’s can’t given all that’s happened.
I hope she is utilized in story and written as a more heroic horde character.

I would love to see what Velonara can do besides being a side character like filling in the shoes of Sylvanas’s leadership of the dark rangers.

They were almost all so uniformly terrible they shouldn’t have even happened in the first place.
For me, my ideal is that the Dark Rangers become properly established as the ‘Farstriders’ of the Forsaken. Smaller in number than the majority of Lordaeronian undead, but typically possessed of greater skill and dedicated to defending Lordaeron and its people as they did in their respective elven homelands. Velonara would properly take on the title of Ranger-General (and ideally get some kind of model or at least a custom armor set like below).
The thing I think works best with both types of Darkfallen is that they experience a slightly different kind of rejection compared to their human counterparts. Where the humans are reviled and shunned as monsters by their people, the elven undead have a more tacit disapproval. They aren’t hated by Quel’thalas or the Kaldorei, but they’re a harsh reminder of the losses they suffered and would never truly fit in beyond a particularly fortunate individual. Delaryn and the night elf dark rangers are a disaster of a narrative, but given how the Forsaken are well on their way towards moving beyond the events of BfA, I think simply treating them as any other dark ranger and committing them to the Forsaken cause is the best move.
As for Velonara, she’s got ample opportunity for spotlight in the encroaching Scarlet prominence. Her mother was captured and tortured to death by them, and she was the Horde’s premiere questgiver in their dungeons during the Cataclysm revamp.
I think pretty much all of the Desolate Council members (yes, even Calia) would work great as an ensemble cast going up against that threat, they all have their reasons to fight against the Tyranny of the Light idea, be that from the Scarlets, from Turalyon, or even from Quel’thalas and their heavy ties to the Light. Velonara as the middle ground between the cultural shift of the blood elves versus their allies in the Forsaken could make for ample drama, especially if you give her some backstory with people like Liadrin or Halduron.

Velonara had never had a high ranking position of the dark rangers. She was minor at best. Sadly those who had some sort of command over the others got killed by the alliance and Saurfang during Bfa so we are 3 down.
Of the eight dark rangers left alive? Just makes me think of a landlocked country having a Fleet Admiral.
May not have many named ones, but there are still quite a lot of dark rangers you can see throughout the new forsaken hub. Both thalassian and kaldorei.
Most sided with Sylvanas and those died when the Horde saved Bwonsamdi. Lyana and Areiel are dead. And they were the closest to Sylvanas. Velonara only got the job because she swore her aligance to the Horde first.
