Dark Ranger and Bard are NOT WoW Classes

Not really besides DK, but they wear plate. Necromancers would wear cloth. but guess people could argue that Warlocks are like Necromancers, but not really.

Besides I think Blizzard are already testing the waters with necromancer, just from playing Exiles Reach. Necromancer will get that greenish/blue color that Necromancers were using on the island. itll be cool because itll be the first caster hero class.

It’s just people who wanna be the Leader of the Edge Parade.

Tinkers follow the existing patterns of class design. Therefore they are likely to be added in the future.

No I’m saying the opposite, they do.

Which is why I think Necro’s have a chance, not as much as Tinker. But still a chance.

Exiles Reach also has Tinkers though.
Everyone on that Island is a representative of an existing class. Except the tinkers there. They don’t represent an existing class. But they’re fully voice acted and going on about how superior technology is.

Then we’re in Agreement. Tinkers are likely because they’re so easy.
Just copy a Hero from Warcraft 3. Just like the last 3 classes they added.

Bonus points. Tinkers don’t step all over an existing class.

Thematically they are similar to warlocks. Summon pets. Lock is demon, Necro would be undead. They are both antihero types. UH DK already summons undead minions. I doubt they will make 2 classes that summon undead armies. So that would mean a change to Unholy.

Also this expansion is our undead expansion. If they were going to introduce a class related to dead/afterlife powers, Shadowlands would have been the place to do it. It wouldnt make a whole lot of sense for the next expac, to have a Necromancer. “Hey look what we found in Shadowlands. Necromancers! We are bringing them along to fight (Insert New Expansion Badguys)”

FF14 and FF11 would disagree with you about bard. FF14, bard is dps with support buffing abilities. Of course most dps in that game support the groups with some type of buff. There’s only 2 pure “selffish” dps classes in the whole game that have higher self dps but no support for the group.

Not keen on the idea of having bard as a class in WoW. They’d screw it up some how. Remember bards are good at many things, but great at nothing.

Final Fantasy XIV has Bards.

It’s basically a DPS class with some support spells on the side for flavor. However, Bards are Archers in FFXIV so this type of Bard wouldn’t work in WoW unless it’s added as a spec to Hunters, or replaced a spec for hunters. And I don’t think anyone wants that, especially since Blizzard already did that to Survival by making it a Melee spec. /me throws more salt over this.

IMO, if they can’t implement a WoW friendly version of Bards, Outlaw Rogues can just RP as Bards if people really want to.

And Rangari and Elven Archers/Rangers are basically the opposing version of Dark Rangers just using light and nature magic respectively.

Which could thus make for an interesting Ranger class with specializations in Dark Magic, Light Magic, and Nature Magic enhanced guns/bows/xbows.

You know this game is called “World of Warcraft” Right?

I don’t see any Bards in Warcraft. So I don’t want any bards in “World of Warcraft”

I think the bigger problem is FF14’s class design/encounter design in general. FF14 still uses support abilities while WoW has left that behind. Their encounter design is all about META and everything is a dps race. Even tank dps matters which I find annoying.

But in WoW we have no support type roles. A bard would have to hold its own in a DPS spec.

If it is the only support role, it would have to buff the other 2 dps in a group to compensate. Also how would that pan out in a raid? Do they buff only group members? Or raidwide? If raidwide, then you only need 1 or 2 of them per raid. If its group wide, then you need 1 per group in a raid. If their buff to the group is just a bit too good, then every 5man would be Tank, Healer, Bard, 2 DPS.

Just seems like it being a support role wouldnt work, unless WoW redesigns several specs as support, and creates a new role.

We already have that.

It’s called hunter.

You should take a look at classic. Shaman and Paladin and warlock even are very much support classes. Vanilla shaman is probably the closest this game has ever come to a bard…

Just because you haven’t it yet doesn’t mean it’s not there. Nothing new would get added if they used that logic.

cough cough
Every class in this game has abilities from Warcraft 3.

cough
All the new classes they have added are from Warcraft 3.

Therefore it stands to reason that the Next class will also be from Warcraft 3.

That’s why the game is called “world of warcraft” not “World of whatever we want to happen craft.”

Yea, I mentioned this in a later comment. WoW has moved away from support roles. Which is kinda sad because support can be so fun and clutch.

if you want to try and make bards dps they could easily be worked into short-range, aoe, casters.

My Favorite Classes in Everquest were Bard, Shaman, Mage, Shadowknight. With Bard being my favorite.

And yet we’re going to a place in the next expac that wasn’t even really thought of much in WC3.
