Is there going to be a dark portal opens event?
There is. It’s called the black mores instances.
As for a prepatch event there also is the tabard quest.
Tbc is before blizzard did massive launch events those started with wrath.

Have to kill lvl 60 non elites.
minimum level for the quest is 55, but the mobs are level 60 so you may have to get some help or kite them to some nearby npcs

The tabard quest is easy, make sure you get it! My boostie got it easy
The tabard quest is easy even on an under geared toon. Just kite the felguard to the NPC guards and they will tank it.
Kill six get your sweet tabard. Takes less than 5 minutes.
Yes. The event will be called “World Server Down”. There will very likely also be a “Queue” event and an “Instance Server Down” event. It will be very exciting.

Anyone know what time the quest will disappear? Will it be up in the AM tomorrow (June 1st) before the release?
Just tag the ones the guards have been beating on that are at low health.
