Dark pact being usable in a stun

You’re making the mistake of comparing the usage of the ability in a stun to every other classes’ ability to press defensives in stuns - Which, for the most part, cannot press an absorb in a stun. The mistake you are making is that this comparison does not do anyone justice because not Warlocks are different from all the other classes (and all classes are different from each other). You realize that a class that might not be able to press it in a stun, is still able to do a completely different range of things as compared to a warlock?

Reroll? I’ve been playing Hunter since TBC lol. I just don’t care to go past 1800 since I only do it for the set Mogs now. Nice deflection trying to attack someones rating instead of responding to my logical statement. You really prove how delusional Locks are.

I repeat, 5 other defensives. You have used a SINGLE 45 sec CD to negate an entire teams damage. Please actually respond instead of resorting to some “Oh I’m higher rated, I shouldn’t have to use logic”

Remember dark regeneration? :joy:

I wasn’t alone on the lock forums when I hung up the class due to how brain free it had become defensively. (in MoP) There were plenty of others who gave up their warlocks due to how simple it was offensively as well.

I don’t think that saying the defensive has been around since mop is a good example of why it’s ok. It’s been hated since mop.

16 years man.

I really don’t attack people’s ratings (feel free to review my post history to affirm that) but I dislike it when you speak to other people like you’re just absolutely 100% correct in your statement and there is no way that I could possibly have any idea how to play my class or even be aware of my defensives.

The reason I mention your rating is because you think that warlocks can just press 5 defensives every time someone targets them and then be unkillable. In truth, you absolutely do not get to use all of them together because you need to trade certain ones at certain times in accordance with the cooldowns of your healer and the cooldowns of the enemy team. You wouldn’t know about that, though. Hence the rating jab.

I never said that, but go off lol

You’re absolutely delusional if you think an enemy 3v3 team does only 200k dmg in their burst window LOL

Literally YUUUUGE

Hahah brother we used to be able to RUN AND CAST ALL SPELLS while having a divine shield while having a dark regen while having blazing speed rofl

Yeah it was atrocious lol. Fun chaotic design but way too streamlined and simplified. Pop dam. do dam. Heal with ember tap if in trouble. KJC was insane prenerf too.

I had fun early MoP but it was just a power trip and got boring.

Using Havoc to Pet-sac dual seduce people was fun tho.

Nobody complained about Warlock because, as broken as it sounds, everything else was way worse. Thug, KFC, L$D, bla bla, it was all nuts. Soul Swapping kids all game or insta applying your entire row of dots with a shard was epic. Hell, Demo was still Demo. I miss MoP. I hope they make it to MoP classic.

Did I say press 5 defensives? I said you HAVE 5 other methods of defense. 45 sec Dark Pact for all offensive CDs isn’t much of a trade. Most classes burst is on a 1:30-2:00 minute CD unless they are a sustain damage class. Dark Pact would technically negate every burst go 100% by itself without using a single other defensive ability.

Like I said.

Warlocks complained about warlocks.

That being said. I think people were complaining about early Demo & Destro throughout the expansion. it’s just aff that people kinda ignored and let exist.

You can definitely use it incorrectly.

If you withhold the shield until your HP is low you get a very minimalistic shield.

What part are you not understanding here? Why are you convinced that, in a perfect world where you get the full 200k absorb off before the enemy team does a go, that is in ANY way stopping their go? Are you out of your mind? Do you realize that 200k damage takes at MOST like 4 seconds to dish out from 3 players in a burst window, and that offensive CD’s tend to be up for like 20 seconds? What, are they just gonna do 200k dmg cumulative and then sit down behind a pillar and cry about having no more? You’re really breaking my brain with this garbage dude, we can talk about the ease of use and short cooldown and balance of the ability all day, but stop making out other players to be as smoothbrained as you, because the majority of us are well aware that a 200k absorb isn’t stopping anyone’s offensive push on you. Get a clue. Play some games.

Literally out of your mind rofl OHP THE WARLOCK PRESSED PACT ITS OVER GUISE

You obviously didn’t read my previous statement at all, I was NEVER saying the 200k Absorb was too much. However I did say the 45 SEC CD WAS ABSOLUTELY BUSTED.

Using it in a stun is fine, they just need to reduce the %hp absorb like they do with all % based heals after they increased stamina greatly.

I’m personally of the mind they give armor back to demon armor and gut pact. However like others have said, when most melee are capable of near 100k hits, if you just kill pact, warlock (especially destro) is completely dead in the water. Which let’s be honest, is what most people want.

I think most of the complaints come from specs that can’t get through the shield, and that is more of a problem with those specs than the shield itself. Some specs shred through it in 2 globals.

Just nerf it so these forums can return to DH and Fury hate, which is what we all really need.

Bro you literally said

:skull: :skull: :skull: :skull: :skull: :skull: :skull: :skull:

And that crap would be FINE to negate it if it wasn’t on a 45 SEC CD. I really think you don’t read properly though so I’ll show you exactly where I said this.

Wow almost like I’ve been saying this the entire time.

Sure, but it’s still physical and usable while stunned. Warlock can almost play reactively whereas other classes only have the option of pre-walling a go, usually when they’re aware of drs, cc going out on teammates, positioning, whatever.

It’s kind of like when Rogues tell people they could’ve used a defensive better or faster as if every class has all their get out of jail cards off global.

Ah, someone who has a brain! Welcome to the thread.

This. Pact is absolutely overpowered in its current iteration in 1v1, 2v2, BG’s, etc. But it’s not that crazy in a 3v3 scenario, sorry to break it to folks. People (rogues, wars, dh) are new to not seeing the warlock’s health just immediately plummet when they press their lit-up buttons, so now we have this influx of… Whatever this is

This is a fair point. Warlock’s toolkit has made it a rather reactive class to play. You can pre-stun or pre-coil certain big dmg abilities, you can pre-port stuns or spears, but ultimately, for every button you can pre-anything, you have a button to react with.

Which makes for a very choreographed class that you just have to go through the motions with. And once you do, you’re good!

The point is that warlocks are popping their defense at high health before they take damage essentially “expecting” the enemy to drill into them.

Since they are forced to pop the defense at 90% health for max efficiency you can just bait him into popping it at high health bar and then swap to something else. Essentially you can get a warlock to pop the defensive for very minimalistic effort.

Prepopping the shield is still the best way to go. Sometimes the damage happens so fast that you’re at 50% before you can react. You miss out on like 100k worth of shielding that way.

So in that way, we get punished for not using the shield “correctly”.

I’m not saying the shield is ok, I’m just saying that a reactive response vs a predictive one is punishing for us.
