Not sure, I just know the Guild the comics are about is effectively dead and none of the characters save maybe the author occasionally actually play anymore. Kinda creeps me out that the whole comic is one guy waving around a bunch of corpses of his old friends.
That does make it a bit creepier but by now I’d think they are less representations of his actual friends and more just generalizations of guild members you’d run into.
I’m sure if one of the original guys actually wanted him to retire a character or whatever he would so they must still be on good terms.
I feel like I remember reading a post somewhere saying only some of them are still in contact at all. That doesn’t mean bad terms for the others, obviously. Just a Guild that split up over time. I’m sure if anyone asked he’d stop using their likeness/character, yeah.
Eh, kinda-sorta? Donald was always that, but some of the other main cast was always based on actual people, even if you can compare them to WoW Player “Archetypes”.
I don’t -really- think it’s a creepy comic, but it’s just unfortunate that that it was so heavily designed around a real Guild that no longer really exists.
