I played humans most of my wow career and then blood elves. While I loved them I became intrigued with dwarves and made a dwarve ele. Fell head over heels with the aesthetic and cultural history. I read so much about. I have a max lvl human and be paladin. I wanted to keep their armor sets so I decided to roll dark iron dwarf pally. OMG I am obsessed with these guys. Love the heritage armor and can’t contain my excitement about being a dark iron. Never played dwarf until this xpac but damn I love it
Glad you found them cool.
They are really interesting, I have a Dark iron pally as well, but stuck on lvl 50 (i leveled him back in bfa to 120), But i plan to get him up to 70 anytime before TWW hits.
Nice.
I think most people here cared about the lore of this game to some extent or another, because otherwise why would they be here?
Sometimes I think people can forget that, but I fully believe more people should be as earnest as this thread comes across.
It could just be me but this is the best the subforum has been in years whenever I’ve been active.
I haven’t seen a single post indicating someone was this or that IRL because of what faction or race they picked. (now general is another story lmao)
Good timing as the Skardyn are returning and the Dagran has inherited Ironforge.
There is also the Moira short story released recently, that is very good.
Dark Iron dwarves are cool. I made a DI pally immediately when they came out. I named her Patron after the Grim Patrons of Blackrock Depths.
Welcome to the club. Dwarves have great lore and Dark Irons are heaps of fun in particular!
yes dagran is of age now
Also cool Kurdran is training the Stormriders in Khaz Algar.
Curious about why the Stormriders need training? Something is wrong with a titan device.
Olbarig: How often did we have the same argument about our stormrooks, Baelgrim?
Olbarig: And how often did that blasted titan machine wipe away the memory of it?
I ally myself with the alliance and thorian brotherhood
Dwarves are actually the second most powerful race on Azeroth.
Ironforge and Shadowforge are the second and third largest, richest, and most important cities on Azeroth, as they are built entirely around sprawling mineral nodes. Furthermore, Ironforge is virtually impregnable, no army could ever hope to breach it. Its massive gates withstood even the full might of the Orcish Horde, and since it’s linked to Stormwind (largest/richest/most important city on Azeroth) via the Deeprun Tram, it never risks to run out of food or water.
Furthermore, Ironforge is the only capital city that has never suffered any major attack. It and Boralus are the only two capitals which have never been breached and fallen to an enemy army.
Now that Dagran Thaurissan II has come of age, it’s only a matter of time until he ascends the throne. When that happens, Ironforge and Shadowforge will officially be united under one banner, bringing the whole of Khaz Modan/Central EK under the throne of Ironforge and the Alliance.
TLT will take place in Northrend, so Dwarf spotlight is guaranteed for obviou reasons.
So TL;DR: There’s never been a better time to become a Dwarf fan.
Or it might trigger another War of the Hammers if mishandled. On the other hand, the mechagnomes instead of being a nation of their own have simply seemed to merge with the gnomes.
Literally the entire point of the Council of Three Hammers was to avert another civil war. If the regency hasn’t been stabilizing the kingdom and preparing the throne for Dagran II’s ascension, what have they been doing in the last 14 years?
And if one person becomes set to take two of the three, that may well upset the balance that Council was created to promote with the Wildhammers demoted to secondary citizen status. That won’t end well.
Well, No, it will actually be fairly easy to avert another civil war.
The Bronzebeards and Dark Irons are happy because Dagran II is a Bronzebeard from his mother side and a Thaurissan from his father side. His family name is “Thaurissan”, while Muradin and Brann Bronzebeard are his uncles.
The Wildhammers can be kept in the fold by having Dagran II marry a Wildhammer girl. Make a Wildhammer girl the Queen of Ironforge and Aerie Peak will remain in the fold.
The Wildhammer Clan is one of the three great clans of the Dwarves, surely there’s some niece or daughter of Falstad or Kurdran that Dagran II can marry?
Either way, we are looking at a golden age of peace and prosperity for Ironforge and the Dwarven race.
“What could go wrong?” Signagture quote of the original Top Gear Trio, frequently just before something did.
Bruh, literally the entire point of the Council of Three Hammers is to prevent another civil war. Originally civil war started because the three clans fought each other for control of the throne. This situation is averted by giving each clan an equal voice in the regency council.
A genius solution from High King Varian Wrynn, which makes you wonder why the Dwarves never came up with this idea themselves.
Because Dwarves of all three branches have a common trait… they’re as stubborn as stone.
