I have just noticed Dark Edge of Insanity the 2h axe that drops off of C’thun proc which is a disorient for 3 seconds now has a DR(with itself so far), it also feels like it procs a lot less than before. Has anyone noticed this or can confirm as well? I cannot find anything on this subject.
Also, I wanted to edit right here because now I’m not sure if it’s in my head or not. I truly thought I remembered DEoI proc rate happening more often, and also I dont remember it DRing on itself. I tested it and tried, but could only get it to proc 3 sec then it would proc 1.5 then basically by then it would go back to 3. I am unsure if this was always this way, but I don’t remember that at all. Any info guys?
EDIT: THIS HAS BEEN SOLVED. Dark Edge of Insanity DOES DR ITSELF.
It is a misconception that is has no DR(within itself) It does and has been this way.
A lot of things changed with the 1.15 patch. Could be something like that but idk.
Alot of the proc rates are terrible with the chance on hit rolling around 1-5%
Side note- SOD Talbad Shadow Bolt proc rate feels great
Yeah, I realize that but I posted this because I want to know if anyone else noticed this and i’m not just crazy. So far I’ve spoken to 2 other players and they both noticed the proc change but we can’t put an exact finger on if the proc shared a dr with itself 3 sec to 1.5 sec etc
Unrelated but on Loath you used to be able to cast exorcism throughout the entire fight.
Now you can cast it until your first heal, then when you have the no-heal-debuff you cannot cast exorcism anymore.
1.15 broke a bunch of stuff… so I wouldn’t not be surprised if it also broke the c’thun axe.

So, I really have no idea. I know that Dark Edge of Insanity had no DR with anything else, but does anyone remember it DRing itself when proc’d too fast back to back? If anyone has one and can remember or a video, please share!
No it did not DR, at all, ever in vanilla. Same with RNG CC’s of any kind, they never DR’d in PVP or PVE.
Blizzard has been changing things and I suspect they do this because they think we will not notice,… or they think “its for the best” when they themselves (the blizzard employee players) are coming from “Wrath” and “retail” and and get upset about how things are and then change it.
This is most likely.
Tho perhaps I overestimate the quality? Perhaps its laziness or incompetence or lack of care.
I really hope you are wrong and that it did used to DR itself, although I dont remember. All of this is comeplete BS. Someone needs to answer.
I don’t think it used to DR with anything including itself.
It was one of the reasons that some players would propose that dark edge was better than MoM. Because with dark edge you wouldn’t risk putting intercept on DR (whereas mace stun could) and thus could reliably use that full stun in a kill combo.
I dont think/you dont want to think/and me either… You have no facts. We need video proof of it not having DR and the Double proc I seen so much. You are basically talking out your booty as if much as I am… I hope were wrong.
Dark Edge had no DR and no ICD

Right? I dont remember it DRing itself, but maybe that is us mixing it up with it having no DR with any other ability.
I have one, it never DR’d
Its a disorient with no ICD. no DR and doesn’t break on damage.
Dark Edge of Insanity has indeed been changed.
Here is proof.
In this first video (recorded circa 2021) during the final 20-30 seconds, you can see two procs approximately 10 seconds from each other. The proc is not subject to diminishing returns.

In this second video (Taken today, 2-1-24), you can see 2 procs, the second proc lasting 1.5 seconds.
