I watch the Full Series of Age of Resistance and even the Movie and the Dark Crystal Series was Amazing!
Now I see why people wanted the Arakkoa because they were inspired by the Skeksis. I think the Skeksis are pretty cool looking birds. Plus other races and Creatures too.
I hope we get a Season 2 of Age of Resistance after the ending with the Giant Monster Creation. Also there was a General Grievous looking Bird Skeksis and he was freaking awesome!
I watched it all too in the last couple of weeks and for a nostalgia trip i think they were great other than some of the voice acting. I know they are puppets but some of the facial features with the gelflins didnt match with the scenes in parts. As a fan of the original growing up these definately did justice though with how gritty and dark they are.
I dont think they have plans for. Season 2 from what I saw on the behind the scenes story. Sadly
The Hunter is dead… His other half Archer killed him by leaping off a cliff… The General is dead too(courtesy of the Chamberlain) but he was an embarrassment despite all the armor.
The only powerful Skeksis left for Season 2 are the Garthim Master and the Mariner.
Which has me scratching my head because The General takes the Emperor’s place when he dies in the 1982 movie. They’re going to have to bring him back some how.
That was the Garthim Master SkekUng not the General SkekVar. SkekUng is still alive in Age of Resistance and will be called back to replace the General and be given the title of Garthim Master and in the Movie become Emperor.
Incidentally in recent news the Jim Henson Company has noted that they will have to use a medium other than Netflix to continue the Dark Crystal Story past Age of Resistance(anyone else hearing The Dark Crystal: Garthim War?).
I also think they can’t green light a second season due to covid restrictions in the workplace. I mean, just 1 Skeksis has 2 people in the suit itself. As sad as I am to see it cancelled, the entire film industry has shut down or delayed massive amounts of projects, so I’m not at all surprised.
And people cancelling subs over a movie I’ll never watch is idiotic. Go after the studio that made it and the film festival that gave it the praise that put it on Netflix radar too. They’re basically assaulting the drug dealer and doing nothing to the drug supplier or manufacturer. Not an effective way to stop the drug flow.
