Dark character done right... in meme form

I can see why that part might make some people uncomfortable. I was trying to make each list 1-for-1 with a contrasting point for each person.

Cursewords’ recommendation of Turalyon would’ve worked better… except this thread is about dark characters, and Turalyon isn’t one.

Why abandon thread? I’ve seen worse ones on the forums.

I don’t think anyone was uncomfortable. More like the inclusion of Darion’s sex life was a big WTF moment. Like where do you get that he’s a celebate virgin? How is his virginity a counter-point to Illidan being a simp? How is the guy who had his own very large harem the incel compared to the guy who, according to your sources, hasn’t gotten any?

There’s a lot of questions here, and I’m not sure if we should know the answer.

I remember reading somewhere that the harem wasn’t for Illidan, but for his followers. I don’t know if Darion was a virgin and I never said he was, that was just a point of contrast.

As for Illidan being an incel, he did join a world-destroying demon army because the woman he wanted chose another man and spent millennia pining over her. Compare this to Furion; he loved Tyrande too, but before their relationship started, he thought she’d chosen Illidan and while heartbroken he moved past and didn’t let that make him do negative things.

Thread is bad and you should bad for making it Thad.

I mean, that does certainly imply virginity, but I can see we’re going for word games here. Still, any evidence of his celibacy?

That doesn’t make him an incel. We don’t know if Illidan was celibate, nor if that presumed celibacy was involuntary. His poor choices do not imply either. Just that he had a love for a woman who had another man.

You have made some interesting assumptions about these characters’ sexual activity. It’s… An interesting choice. No judgment tho.

The poor thing spent an eternity in space and just wanted a hug, K…?

I’m not doing word games any more than you’re doing quote-mining.

Again, the woman he wanted choosing someone else was a factor in him joining a world-destroying demon army. That reminds me of the incel image of them killing those who reject them and the one they did choose (or did he think the demons would spare Tyrande?). I could make a comparison, but I know it’d trigger some people.

But I’m not “quote-mining”, and I’m not sdure if you know what that means, given the number of times you’ve incorrectly applied it to people.

But, again, you haven’t shown how Illidan is celibate, let alone involuntarily so. Nobody here is denying Illidan made a terrible choice.

Unless you think terrible choices are only done by the celibate?

I said I’m not doing word games, and I compared that to how what you’re doing looks like quote-mining… but it isn’t.

Given the writers fondness’ for Illidan (and the disturbing real-life proclivities of some of them), the details they have given about his life and the amount of spotlight he’s gotten… if Illidan had a love life, do you really think the writers would’ve left that out?

By the way, you’re quite full of passive-aggressive remarks in this thread.

Why should I?

What IS the point of this thread besides sparking a pointless arguement?

I changed that part to “passive-aggressive remarks” because it’s more comprehensive.

The point was to talk about what I consider a dark character done well and dunk on a dark character I consider done poorly.

And you didn’t answer my question (yet).

What question would that be?

Why you think I should feel about about this thread.

Because it serves literally no purpose at all except to spark a pointless arguement about something that’s never been elaborated on in game.

It’s terrible bait, even for you Thad

I know you said that, but you lied.

Yes.

We know the sex lives of how many characters? Thrall and Aggro? Tyrande and Malfurion? Varian and Tiffin? And even T&M is purely assumption, given the length of their relationship.

I think it’s a safe bet the writers and developers don’t go out of their way to discuss the sex lives of even their favorites.

Passive-Aggression is not defined by asking you questions about an unusual claim you’ve made regarding two characters. That’s what my posts have been full of. Stop reading into things. You have a dendency to do it a bit.

Not my fault that certain people chose to focus on the part about characters’ love/sex lives (says more about them than me)… or that you ignored the reason I stated.

You asked a question. I answered. I figured you were going to accuse me of ignoring something.

Here’s a hint, don’t ask questions if you aren’t ready for the answer

But none of us decided to make assumptions about that sex life. We’ve just asked how you came to that conclusion, Thad.

This is a very poor defense, and I’m sure you know that. You could have, at any point, just answered how you came to that conclusion with in-narrative evidence, or just said you pulled it out of your butt.
