Yeah, I knew all about that, and I should probably have gone with the 5900x for the value as well, but… Ah well. I might refuse delivery and try to get a 5900x…
Sal, you need to turn off autofill and have someone hold your credit cards for you
But also, I want to see comparisons of the 8700k vs. the 5800x in WoW
LOL
you’re not wrong
I feel like you and I have a similar problem…

I currently have a 10850k and this cpu alone cost more than the 10850k + motherboard…
should have just waited for zen 4 for an AM5 setup imo
I’m drooling on these boards.

Still waiting for reviews.
you lucky rogue you, i was too slow this morning
I might as well wait forever then.
If it makes you tingling on the inside, the 3900x was the best consumer cpu, I ever got to used. Minus the few quirks of AMD.
@Sal
This is what happen when you get stuck in a meeting with a couple of old farts fighting over processes at 8am-12pm, but hey that’s why they’re GS14
Haha well, glad you accomplished something at least.
Those looks cool, especially the first one. I like the recent trend of motherboards taking on lighter, less classically-“gamery” color schemes. The Gigabyte Vision series boards also come to mind.
Haven’t decided yet. Still waiting for CPU reviews.
Why, shortage could be over any time in this year, there’s plenty of time to start planning ahead for next year’s ryzen parts. That’s what I’m doing
That crypto bubble will burst any time now and now that covid vaccines are getting out to people needed, eventually things will be back to normal around the world
Outside of a few things here and there, I barley had a reason to upgrade from my 8700k. Is all I’m saying. Me upgrading has nothing to do with the pandemic and crypto bubble.
To be completely honest. I spend most of my time playing Bloons Tower Defense 6 and youtube.
Personally, I think I may be skipping the first generation or two of DDR5 systems as well as Intel’s 12th generation Big/Little.
After going through the growing pains of Ryzen 1st gen and DDR4, I just don’t have it in me to troubleshoot that stuff.
Sometimes it’s just the itch. You wanna scratch it.
This is more like chicken pox. Gotta put mittens on me
I would like to think they have learned their lesson with first gen ryzen and first generation of am4 boards since AGESA was brand new back at that launch in 2017.
I’ll believe it when I see it.
Same apprehension with Intel’s 12th gen which will also be on DDR5, as well as having a “wild” architecture that hasn’t been on desktops before.
Wouldn’t be surprised if they found some security flaw that deactivated all of the littles. Or the bigs. Or tigs.
