Dance sub only again!?

Feels like a big nerf for assa, now master assassin is useless for pvp. Can’t mongo vanish. Also what is their obsession with current tier 4p and the new rapid injection talent? Another useless talent for pvp players… bring back marked for death as pvp talent since the cloak nerf. Rarely do you double envenom in pvp while the buff is up. MFD would fix that so easy

The problem is that Rogue are losing tools again.

MFD isn’t just for using on a damaging finisher as it was often used for on demand Kidney.

Sepsis wasn’t just a damage tool as it was a means to use on demand cheap shot while not wasting vanish CD since vanish is now mostly an offensive CD now.

Acrobatic Strikes isn’t just a DPS talent as it is also a survivability talent as you can do damage while outside of range of what would normally harm melee and range ALWAYS is able to avoid (especially in PVE).

What do you assassin gents think about the new bonespike? That’s kinda slick giving a good up front hit and inheriting the other effects naturally.

Carnage is firing off the bone spike charges if they are available from what I read. That will be a godsend for m+ assuming tuning hits right.

Hmmm, this looks bad for Assassination if they don’t get another way to activate IC outside of Vanish.

This is true for all 3 specs. The Vanish talent will take place of the Shadow Dance talent in the class tree.

I for one think it’s bittersweet. On one hand, Im glad that assassination doesnt have shadow dance. It never should have. Should have stayed a sub only talent. On the other hand, I will miss it but not very much.

I hope this guts kingsbane builds too. Im sick of the aoe playstyle in pvp and I really want it to go away.

Testing on alpha on a dummy for consistency

  • I’m hitting 386k envenoms with amplifying poison + this alpha’s ilvl 515 gear and the fatebound coin at 3 stacks is hitting for 45-60k extra damage noncrit (tails). The 10% envenom talent is compounding into either side of the coin flip as a note as a nice chunk.

  • no modifiers used (shiv + only lethal dose (rupture/garrote) , no other things active to boost anything.

  • People asked for more envenom damage and there it is as a pathing choice to add into meaningful envenoms (mind you combining other stuff as it should be).

  • Comparing to other classes and what i’m seeing, rogues are shaping up nicely and we can hold our own against other classes in what they are doing (right on the money).

Yeah and the NYI talent of [Thread’s Fate] doing splash damage along with spreading other dots and [Caustic Splatter] might help you guys out and be able to really light something’s behind up while focusing down a big bad.

I don’t agree with meter maid aoe that a lot of people are obsessed with as we really should be there as rogues to smoke the living snot out of a big bad and help the group by moving onto the next one. Leave the silly padding to pajama classes.

  • Opening up playstyles and allowing for further expression is solid. Mutilate does damage as an example, albeit that it is split up among multiple neat interactions. It will do damage as a result.

  • The bone spike adding into rupture gives some punch up front which is cool to see assassins get and mix in stuff like their [ Vicious Venoms] etc… Assassination will have a good mix of damage and hopefully have some more variation in things.

  • They are emphasizing on making more playstyles and tightly tuning last we heard and that is great news. I’m all about it man.

Its kinda a prank as subterfuge is getting buffed to 6 seconds. Its more like they’re baking shadow dance into vanish / in pvp restealths for the non sub rogues.

Not a huge fan of the change in this context. I dont thibk out of stealth use of stealth abilities should be incorporated into the two more brawl-y specs.

Juat doesnt fit my subjective view of rogue

Me either. Sub should be the stealth spec. I don’t like how the other specs have to play around stealth so much.

For PVE vanish is still purely offensive CD still. For PVP you are back to making choices just like when Rogues had premed baseline.

for PVP it’s a net nerf offensively, only for the defensive benefit of having a second vanish that will be broken 1.5 seconds later. offensively, it’s the same thing but on a 2 min cd instead of 1, for sub and outlaw
which means fewer garrote silences, fewer cheapshots, etc
