Dance Studio

Now hear me out.

Short version:

  1. A lot of people want it
  2. No gameplay advantage, and no change to gameplay
  3. Gold sink

A lot of people have been wanting more dances. And, since there will only ever be 8 playable races, Classic would take a lot less time to finish each dance.

It changes nothing about the gameplay itself. You would have no advantage, or disadvantage, in terms of mechanics.

  1. Gold sink. If this was implemented as a gold sink, it would help keep gold valuable. Of course adding this later, when people have gold.

The idea:
Have a npc teach you dances for a fee. Say 1,000g per dance (remember, gold sink, and like 2-5 years after release) And, you could buy a certificate to give another player to learn each dance. So that even if someone can’t afford can still obtain. This also promotes gifting to help encourage spending.

To the “no changes at all” crowd. What would be the harm? Please give actual explanations that don’t invole just, no changes.

"A lot of people want it " ?

I’d wager a lot of people have no clue what it is.
Most of us left wow and are coming back for the “vanilla experience”.

this would be what for TBC or WOTLK was this promised lol.

Define a lot… I haven’t even seen this asked for in retail like… ever. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Sure it is. It changes how we transverse the major cities

Would it have an impact on gameplay? Probably not, but that doesn’t mean that no changes isn’t a valid argument here.

It’s perfectly fine to want the game as it was in 2006 and for it not to be changed beyond that. We don’t need to defend every single possible change as being bad for the game in some way in order to prevent it from being put into the game.

The underlying argument of no changes isn’t supposed to be “every change is terrible and Vanilla couldn’t possibly be improved upon” but rather that Vanilla should be preserved as it was in 2004-2006.

I also haven’t played in like forever lol. I used to see this asked a lot.

@Sabeth I don’t see the excuse no changes for the sake of no changes as valid an argument. Not liking something, just to not like it is pointless.

It doesn’t really matter if you like it or not, it’s still perfectly fine to want the game to not change.

It’s not saying we don’t like any and all changes, but it mostly comes from a point of view of not wanting to open the door to any sort of change no matter how small or seemingly innocent.

Plus if Blizzard is going to cater to the community on this one and they think the community doesn’t want it changed, then they don’t need to have something you consider to be valid or not.

Saying I don’t want the game changed is essentially still putting in my vote for that.

First of all, I didn’t say anything about what I like or dislike. Do not put words in my mouth.

Second, this isn’t about what I consider valid or not. If you disagree, that’s more than welcome. I encourage people to voice a yes or no. But, you can’t tell me that I should have to consider your reason valid. I understand that people are like you, and want no changes for the sake of no changes. If that’s your only reason, post it and move on. At this point, it brings nothing new to the table. Adding to it withe this adds nothing. I ask for reasons, except no changes for the sake of no changes, to see if there are any actual reasons (for myself to understand further)

I also didn’t say anything about what I like or dislike and yet you talked about not liking something being pointless to me. Maybe you shouldn’t put words in my mouth =P

Also I did give my reasoning for why I don’t want changes and I would have moved on but you’re the one who decided to reply to me telling me that my opinion wasn’t valid to you.

I was just pointing out that I don’t really need your permission for my opinion to be valid. I can still put my opinion out there so Blizzard sees that I don’t want changes in Classic because I want the game to be restored and preserved as it was in 2006.

Which I might add nobody has really explained why that’s such a terrible thing, wanting the game preserved as it was.

After all the model upgrades and new animations and the hib jab, retail doesn’t even have dance studio. Why would we want it?

I know you are, but what am I. Ok peewee.

I am, for the most part, with the no changes group. I don’t find it valid a reason, because there’s no counter to it. 100% what I say will always be wrong, when trying to discuss any change. Since it adds nothing (this is a discussion forum) it’s invalid a reason because of this.

Back on topic. We will never agree, so let’s agree that we disagree.

Finally someone requesting a change that isn’t stupid. More dances wouldn’t affect how the game is played at all. If they were sold, it’d actually sink more gold. Ya, I’d support it. I ain’t part of the “nochanges” crowd. I’m part of the “what’s smart or dumb” crowd.

Except I’m not trying to say that 100% of what you say will always be wrong. You could be asking for them to add flying to Classic and you wouldn’t be wrong, because it’d be your opinion. Not one I agree with and one I could point out why I think that would actually be a bad change, but still not inherently wrong.

There also is a counter to it but like I said: Nobody has ever really tried to argue the point of why wanting something to remain the same is such a bad thing.

but I guess dismissing it as “invalid” is easier =P

I just explained why. The idea of no changes isn’t invalid. Using it to discuss is. It’s simply a vote, and not a discussion, due to it’s nature.

To add to the flying point, you would be giving reasons, as flying (just 1 example) can affect pvp. This adds discussion.

You’ve said why you think saying no changes is invalid, not why not wanting the game to change is a bad thing.

Saying that it shuts down discussion is actually just shutting down the discussion yourself.

Requesting new content a few weeks before launch ?
And with beta/stress test bugs still in the open state ?

AS IF Blizz is going to change classic…
Dream on OP, dream on.

This isn’t for now. As I stated it’d be for years down the road.

@Sabeth you are now invalid. Anything you post I will now skip over. I will look at names, so that I never read your posts again. You are also on ignore, so I dont get notifications. You are done.

Apparently Blizzard’s stance of authentic 1.12 isn’t valid to this discussion though =P
