Who thought that you should pop all offensive cds and burst 10% HP max of the raid boss tank specs running around with 15k hp is a great idea? The damage reduction aura is more than enough.
One argument for this slow pace is that it takes more skill like arena as if that matters in a casual game. However, there is no skill involved at all it’s just parsing on raid boss tanks. Arena type PvP does not work for SoD.
Arena type skill expression revolves around CD management, interrupts and CC and that simply does not matter in SOD. There’s almost nothing to interrupt since all the OP abilities are instant and there’s so much AOE stuff you can’t CC anything.
On the other hand, an FPS type skill expression, where the time to kill is relatively fast, revolves around positioning, LOS, map awareness, traps and mind games is what the game is like without the convoluted band aid fixes.

Ya pvp feels genuinely awful in BGs rn, health buff plus reduction aura is SUPER dampening, probably should just do one or the other.
I ganked a warrior in theramore yesterday. Turned out to be afk… took 9 backstabs to kill him.
Mage literally does zero damage, so I get where you’re coming from.
3 second casts for things like FFB or BFB hit for less than a Hunter’s auto-shot.
Everything being instant is rediculous agreed
However the real issue is that tank specs are doing crazy damage bc everyone has crazy damage in SoD so the DPS skilled based classes that pvp dont have that survivability and end up way weaker since they cant oneshot or kill someone in 5-6 seconds
Killing someone in 5-6/7 seconds is a huge problem and worse than what you describe but it is accurate to point out that tank specs are doing too much damage in pvp so they probably need a damage nerf and a threat buff to not break raiding.
Also complaining you cant cc is an argument to do premades instead however as a solo CC dependent weaker class your much better CCing someone who is out of the center of the grp or going and trying to solo the FC or backcap a base then trying to control the middle of the battlefield with a bunch of CC
i feel you…my UA ticks for 190…corruption for 160…but get ranged hit for 1500, melee swing for 1200 or moonfire 290/tick etc

What does your drain life tick for per second? Are you also running soul link?
6 seconds fights are what classic PvP is all about. To compare this with TBC, the highest crit I’ve done with CDs is 1k vs a 10k health pool and in TBC my highest vs a full S3 character was 2.8k + 2.8k in 1 global. That’s 10% vs 56% and in reality it’s much worse as there are fully buffed and flasked tanks with 15k-18k HP running around atm.
That’s not what I meant. I meant something like blind priest kill druid. Guess what it’s still faster to kill things using op starfall and breaking all cc.
