+damage on spells & effects

What exactly does this mean?
I have two pieces of the fang set on my Hunter. The 2 piece bonus gives me +7 to nature damage on spells and effects. How would that scale with serpent sting?

Is it +7 damage overall the duration or +7 on each tick?

It’s +7 damage for nature spells only and the coefficient of Serpent Sting (how much they benefit from each point of +damage) depends on the damage increase.

A quick Google search says it has a 100% coefficient, so it should be +7 damage total - 20% of that for each tick. It’s definitely not worth gearing for and at 60 Serpent Sting is really only good for soloing because it scales so badly.

For dots, it’s +x value to the total damage

Here’s a full breakdown. I can’t confirm the accuracy of each coefficient, but it’s helpful information regardless.

edit: sorry getting that to post was obnoxious

All spells have a spell coefficient between 0 and 1. The formula for total damage of a spell is as follows:

Base damage of spell + (coefficient * bonus spell damage) = final damage

I was more referring towards a future 19 Twink Hunter. With spells being limited in the bracket, Serpent Sting is one of my main tools.

I either go with the 4/4 Scouting Gloves of the Monkey. Or the Gloves of the Fang 3 Strength/2 agility. The set bonus combined with my Leggings of the Fang gives the +7 to Nature Damage

The +damage is completely not worth it.
