I received my Dalaran HS from the Inn keeper yesterday. Im on a boosted DH. Everytime I try to use it, I start the animation but get the message, “You cant do that right now”.
Ive relogged, reset, etc. Im not in combat or doing anything else. Even a delete of the HS doesnt get it to work.
The HS you can get from the Innkeeper isn’t supposed to work unless it is replacing the one you get from the quest to start Legion content. It is more of a “hey, your character isn’t supposed to be able to do that yet” message. It is a shame people are able to request a repacement HS for an HS they neevr actually had, it is probably adding to the confusion.
The real issue seems to be that boosted DHs specifically aren’t able to get the Legion starting quest, which has been reported many times and hopefully they are close to fixing.
idk if you ever got your answer. but if you go to a heros call board and start the legion campaign that way. you will get your working hearthstone as well as getting your orderhall stuff started.
This cant be right. I came back 1 month ago and 6 of my 7 characters simply used the portal to legion land, flew to dalaran, got the hearthstone and ALL of them can use the hearthstone. Only my shaman cant use the hearthstone. I put a ticket in. Again ZERO of my characters did the opening part of legion but ALL (except my shaman) can use the hearthstone.
I figured it out. Its a code flipping issue. None of my other characters had any direct involvement, lore wise, with anything in legion up to dalaran and the artifact weapons. Not a paladin, hunter, druid, rogue, monk, or death knight. BUT a shaman (my character were the artifact weapon and dalaran hearthstone would not work) involves DIRECT involvement with THRALL. So the reason the hearthstone and artifact weapon quest would not work is because most likely they are linked to a program flip. Thrall does, X so trigger Y happens, repeat repeat. I know this because Once I did the start to dalaran, both thrall and the hearthstone started working.
In short. Out of all of these classes: Paladin, Hunter, Shaman, Rogue, Death Knight, Monk and Druid. ONLY the Shamans have to do the start of the x-pac, scenario, Vol;jins death, demons attacking the funeral, then going to Dalaran to unlock their artifact and dalaran hearthstone usage. Every other class can simply go through the portal in Org/SW fly to Dalaran and get your hearthstone and it will work immediately.
I only have these 7 classes or other classes might be like the shaman, I just can confirm if they are or are not.

This is indeed what I am seeing.
After (within past 6 months) playing through all of my second Horde server, Uldum, the old PvE server, I am seeing this as well…
ONLY my Shaman has a non-working Dalaran (purple) Hearthstone.
I haven’t done a Monk or DH (my 2 least-favorite classes) on this server, but EVERY other class works except my Shaman.
Thanks for the info., this clarifies it for me, and at some point I will do the intro stuff for this Shaman.
Just to clarify since this thread seems to be informative. This does not work for demon hunter as well.
Thank you so much for posting this. I used Chromie time on my shaman, went to Dalaran to get my hearthstone when I finished, but it doesn’t work. This explains so much. Really wish I didn’t have to start Legion to get it to work.

So I did this on my Shammy & got this error. What my problem was is I had previously gone to the Inn in Dalaran for a Hearthstone. Then got the Error. So went back to SW, went to get the legion quest to head there off the board. Told the guy by the docks to skip the quests. He sends me to Dalaran where Auldbridge is standing and has the quest again for me. I DELETED the Dal Hearthstone I got from the Inn. Excepted Auldbridges quest. Got a new Dal Hearthstone & it works

Shaman can’t use her hearthstone. Like everyone else my other 6 classes could get the hearthstone without bothering with the intro quest.
You don’t need to do the whole intro, all you need to do is tell the guy at the docks to skip, and it’ll take you straight to dalaran. Once there you should get a quest to turn in to the guy in front of you who gives you the hearthstone. That’s the only way to get it to work, going through the inn without doing the intro in some way will give you a non functioning hearthstone.
