Dalaran didn't

Big yikes. Hope HR doesn’t hear about this one.

Xal’atath pulled a dreadlord, and she’s a very powerful eldritch entity.

She was impersonating Archmage Drenden, who was a very powerful figure. She assisted in the teleportation of Dalaran, and its security.

I don’t think Khadgar is dead, nor do I think Dalaran is completely destroyed, only the island surrounding it and some of the nonessential structures.

I’m willing to bet both will be back in a later patch. I assume Dalaran will be a raid environment of some kind and that we’ll either face a twisted Khadgar or he’ll pull a Khadgar and assist us later on in some way. Or he’ll have one big final stand that’s significant.

But Xal’atath made it seem like she wanted to claim it, not ruin it. Or maybe I just misunderstood her sentiment.

But anywho, Xal’atath got the drop on them and most essential characters survived. We only lost a few civilians, an injured Archmage of old, and possibly one major lore character. Although I doubt that last one.

Also, Dalaran has fallen before. Archimonde took it down once, and I’m willing to bet Xal is significantly more capable than Archimonde.

It’s heavily implied Xal’atath was using the ley lines running through Dalaran to empower herself. Which was why she was able to smoke the low-fat Guardian in his home turf.

THAT seems like a copout tho. Khadgar is like…

THE wizard.

Is it wrong that I might turn that filter on just because, though I have no issue with spiders, I just find crabs to be “cooler?”

Thanks for the very thought out reasonable post. In my %hitpost thread.

It feels horribly lack luster, and like a spit in the face to Khadgar. I am disappointed. I thought we were gonna save the writing. Blizzard got away with it again.

So this was the Jailor’s plan all along?

Some people aren’t old enough to remember when Dalaran got destroyed the second time. Way more people aren’t old enough to remember when it got destroyed the first time by orcs in WC2.

Metzen talked a bit in a recent interview about passing the torch to the younger generation of characters. Every old lore character likely has a timer on them at this point, except maybe Anduin. I think he was the first torch that got passed down.

I wager by the end of The Last Titan we’ll see all of our driving lore characters be retired in some capacity. So prepare yourself for that to happen.

As for Khadgar, homie has been in a pickle like this plenty of times. It’s kinda his thing. He finds himself in unwinnable circumstances and somehow overcomes it. He’s basically the Gohan of WoW.

Men: dead.
Women: Blowing up cities.
The Jailer: “I could have prevented this, had you just listened.”

I remember, it’s just so crappy to blow it up again, just to hype up this ‘villain’ that a huge fraction of the player base obviously hates. Hope they have more planned than Xal girlbossing it up 24/7. It’s not interesting.

Yeah and I fully expect every single one to be dropped from the story in the most shameful, pathetic, annoying way. No great sendoffs, happy endings, just men bending the knee to their ‘betters’, to pass the torch to someone with less depth and thought put in.

They are going to have a tough time selling successors to anyone.

No he is not… Not even close…

Xalatath is not a woman…

C’mon now. Don’t be willfully incorrect.

How do you mean?

Last I checked Xalatath is an Void Entity possessing a dead elf. That body you see is just a shell not an actual woman. Or do you think Onyxia is a human female… OR do you think that Bolvar is molten Rock elemental?

I find it funny that Legion tried the same thing, infiltrating Dalaran, and a lot of NPCs turned out to be Dreadlords, etc.

We ran them over.

Yet Xal herself does this and it goes flawlessly.

Guess Legion isn’t as good at taking stuff over as they thought they were.

Keep your brainrot to yourself.
Xalatath is taking the form of a woman, because women are the hip thing right now, and that it looks good on keyart. If it doesn’t matter, she could have just used the body of a forsaken. Or someone else.

No, she’s an ‘attractive’ woman, and she’ll be presenting as such the whole time.

What do I mean? I mean you are being willfully ignorant and arguing in bad faith. Xal is a girl.

She is just THAT GOOD!

I haven’t had a chance to ask them their pronouns yet.

You dont get out alot. Xalatath has never been a woman.

Xalatath is a void entity(genderless Because the void has no gender) and Xal took the dead elf body because it was available. You really should learn about the stories you whine about.

I know it is difficult to understand but the world is bigger then your parroted stupid dogma. Grow up and get over yourself. Maybe read a book or two.
