Daily reset, I have 2 world quests available. Cmon Devs

Daily Reset and Like seriously, Cmon. 2 world quests.

As im looking at the map, Im kind of wondering.
Here is an example, ill use pet battles, Bfa had a pet battle daily in each zone of the map split 6 (alliance horde) so 3 dailys up.
Shadowlands 3 as well. Legion same 3.
Same for pvp quests.
So just from noticing one pet battle and one pvp world quest a day for the whole of dragon isles, not just one zone all 3 zones. It feels so much smaller. Not saying dragon isles is smaller, just feels like it.

Lets look at the expansions. legion has 61 world quests up ( not including + 28 on argus)
BFA has 53 (Zandalar 28 Kultiras 25 ) Not including 10+naz and mech
30 on Shadowlands ( not including zereth and korthia dailies plus the 8 WQ’s)

Basically it feels like, dragon isles is the equivalent of one single zone in previous expacs, when it comes to world quests and not only that, but those zones would refresh every 12/24 hours and 8-10 more would be available, where as dragonflight you get 2 new world quests per day ?

After the profession grind, treasures, and group farming rep wears down, whats left ?
I left shadowlands, for 80% of the expansion because i couldnt bare playing it, it was horrible FOR ME, Im really enjoying dragonflight, like im actually waking up again and first thing im doing is going to start up wow.
But, it has this timeless isle vibe, where alot of things to do are join groups and camp rares farm rep or something similar to that. outside of dungeons pvp raids, the world quests are lacking IMO like alot.

Each Hub, might have dailies, at certain reknown levels, but it seems more like side quests. The Maruuk i believe have 3 dailies each time they move camp so like every 3 days ? The cooking event isnt really a daily its more of wait for it. Same for the Hunts. But here again we have that join a raid and do timeless isle type of play.

I know dragonflight might have a lot of content, but outside of the things i have mentioned, im not really seeing it play out in the world as far as things to do like world quests. Its more like, games, here fly through these circles, here hunt for treasure boxes, here join a group and grind items. level your professions.

Those things will quite down once the mythic + , raiding and pvp season start, but for those players who are not instanced this feels a little lacking at least as far as world quests go.

Maybe its just me, maybe when i woke up this morning, and looked at my dragonflight map and saw 2 world quests available i thought, hmm all that i can do is work on achievements or go back and do old content for achievements i guess or collect stuff.

Its a just a bummer, those world quests are what keep me in the zone and then allow me to wander into other things to do and get distracted. This early in the expansion, i never thought i would be opening wowhead or similar and looking up things to do in wow or worse HAVING to log onto to ALT to start the replay game button while i wait for rep options to (potentially/hopefully) offer more things to do.

I didn’t read your opening 5 page introduction to your thesis, but WQs are not daily, they’re bi-weekly. Also, sometimes you have to fly into another zone for your map to update - or try a /reload. If none of this helped you, oh well. Hope you have a good day.

So the WQ’s that we have had since legion that refresh every 12/24 hours and replenish the zone with more WQ’s are bi-weekly not daily ? If so blizzard has a huge bug that has been happening for several years now and they should look into that because im seeing new WQ’s in those zones every 12-24 hours.

Or are you saying a change has been made and now WQ’s are bi-weekly in DF and the whole WQ thing has been revamped with DF ? ( No longer 12-24 hours like they have been since WQ’s first began ?)

“Too many”
“Too little”
“Takes too long”
“I hate them”
“I love them”

JFC people grow up.

This is exactly right.

“Too many” - Don’t do them.
“Too little” - Ask for more.
“Takes too long” - Skip that one.
“I hate them” - that’s okay just do the other content you would rather do.
“I love them” - enjoy.

If this was one person saying all those things i would agree, maybe grow up or move on.
But many people saying those things seperately is just preference and to each his own right : )

People complained because they had some sort of compulsion to always do every WQ as it came up.
They announced that WQ were moving from Bi-weekly to daily and there was an uproar so Blizzard reversed the decision so now you get WQ’s that take less then an hr to do pop up twice a week and will probably remain for DF at the very least.

I can confirm. I have 2 world quests that are up and 1 hunt.

Yeah, this is exactly what happened. Perhaps it’s time for the OP to

Like who ?
The raiders have raids, the dungeon crawlers have mythic, the pvp players have BG’s. The people who are not instanced players HAD world quests daily.
I Just don’t understand this change, its a deterent for players with my similar interests to play .

Couldnt they have added an NPC that gives you the choice to see World quests daily or bi-weekly and the instance players who already feel like they have a 2nd job treadmilling instances wont be affected by world quests unless they intentionally choose to see them ?

I really am confused and discouraged by this.

To me personally i feel passionate about this by this change to WQ’s and suckered just for buying the 1 year sub . I know you guys might feel like its petty and who cares right, but the thing is i do care and this is only going to drive me away from the game on a day to day basis, by signaling that i should only come around every 3 days. Personally I dont want to focus on several games at once, if im playing diablo then its all diablo, POE, FF etc…
With a new expansion i know im not alone in tunneling my focus into wow. Im not good at articulating what i want to say here and i would love to be able to express it better without talking in circles. Bottom line is i feel a little cheated having spent so much money on wow yearly with subs and mounts and pets and tokens, and i feel like an option to play the game that has been an option for several years has now been nerfed for no other reason then just-because ( INSTANCED players?) don’t want more world quests.

Im subbed for 18 months and now im just sitting here feeling stupid and wondering how i would go about refunding a poor choice made with blinders on. Maybe im stupid maybe what im saying is stupid and immature or im just acting emotionally ignorant, but i am really honestly as i sit here feeling gutted.

Really should have been daily considering it is the only other world option to campaign for alt leveling.

You don’t have to do the campaign again on your alt

Means nothing when there aren’t many and the only viable path would be the WQ’s after the bonuses are exhausted. Riding around and farming mats or grinding mobs sounds very boring.

World Quests reduced to a tiny fraction of their previous numbers so that the grind is stretched out that many time longer? I’m liking my decision to hold off on buying DF better and better.

The thing is, Blizzard is just coming off an expansion that rightly had too many chores, they have worked to eliminate these. The playerbase as a collective sometimes decides that certain mechanics are “bad” and anything to do with that is bad 0 nuance. The chores in previous expansions were bad because there was too many and usually they had unique power rewards, in DF while the reps have gear its not unique gear you can get fairly high ilvl rewards from other sources. That being said, as i mentioned earlier daily in the player base has the same negative connotation as “time gating” or “borrowed power”. It doesn’t matter if making world quests daily would be a good thing or not, the collective has decided the word daily is bad because blizzard has been heavy handed in the past with this feature.

I really do understand your point of the playerbase as a whole.
But i feel like there was a majority of players who also enjoyed that side of the content and maybe that option could have remained on toggle.

But clearly as you have pointed out the louder voices have won. Im not bitter about it, just gutted by such a big decision not having options.

Either way im going to keep talking in circles here and I dont want have this negative vibe ruin the fun i was having so im just going to try and walk away from it and see if there something else to keep me motivated to play and if not its no big deal.

There are alot of fun things in the game and to each his own, everyone have fun playing and best of luck. Sorry for all this ranting

They aren’t a chore. They are the only other viable pathway to world leveling alts aside from repeating the campaign.

They were only chore-like because of the systems. They removed those systems so now the chore feel of them is gone.

thats a dead argument, theyve shifted the goalposts and now claim that even only gold and transmog rewards would trigger their FOMO

you will not win with these people

they simply want to control how we play the game, they have a weird sick fetish for control

A part of the problem is of course trying to please a large and diverse audience, who will not all want the same things. A bigger part of the problem IMO, is Blizzard’s self-confessed pivoting too far from extreme to extreme in game design- such as when people complained about all the dailies in MoP, and Blizz decided to replace them with the godawful Apexis areas in WoD.
