Dailies or WQs? or maybe

Now, both have their pros and cons.

Dailies can “usually” be gathered in one place, you pick them up, go around, done, but can be harder to track where you even pick them up in some cases.

WQs can be seen as more “convenient” until you gotta deal with a dumb NPC constantly screaming at you whenever you get near anything (Hallowfall is specially guilty of this)

And no, having to rely on addons and such to fix this doesnt count.

I also think its a bit… weird, that the NPC just telepathecally speaks to you.

So i was wondering, why not a new system? and one based around one of the most neglected and more fitting for these types of “shores”.

The Billboards, these things have practically no use outside of introducing you to a new zone or expansion, so why not design the whole daily quest system around them?

This alone would fix both issues, all the dailies are gathered in one place to pick up, and you dont have to deal with NPC rambling when youre just travelling around (i think farmers specially would welcome this), plus, it fits the whole fantasy setting, of just quest (or i guess requests) placed on the Billboard waiting for some adventure to pick them up and get rewarded for doing them.

If youve seen fantasy anime, such as isekai, youve seen this, and theres also how it would be just more “lively” to see people gathered around the billboard picking up the quests.

And this is more of a personal opinion, but i think it feels nicer to complete a list, rather than dealing with a bunch of objectives scattered across the entire map (that you cant turn off) only for a couple of hours later to be filled again, cluttering the map as a result, (looking at you Ubisoft), and i think i speak for everyone here that one of the best feelings in this game is picking up a bunch of quests, completing all the objectives and then hanging them over all in one go.

Hell now that i think about its somewhat similar to the command board we had in previous expansions, except we’re the ones actually doing these things, just give it a more fitting UI and we good.

Idk, thats just my take, i feel WQs arent that appealing, specially when it comes to fantasy setting, and while dailies made more sense, they had drawbacks, and i think adding the Billboard would fix both of these issues.

I greatly prefer dailies. Mainly because they are actually dailies, whereas WQs are populated, what, every three days?

And I hate seeing the Pet WQs. I havent done pet stuff in years.

It doesn’t fix it, because what you are describing is daily quests which are just less convenient by taking up a quest in your log and requiring you to pick it up before you can complete it. World quests are functionally identical to daily quests except for the fact you don’t have to go pick it up or go turn it in, those happen automatically.

The thing is you can choose when to pick it if you even want to.

WQs just shove it down your throat and can be incredibly annoying at times.

It’d be incredibly annoying to have to stop what I am doing and go pick up a world quest elsewhere, instead of it being available by going to the objective.

What you are describing isn’t a combination of both systems, you’re just describing daily quests.

I mean that depends on where you even are, i feel most people likely log off at a hub zone, which is where a Billboard is most likely to be at.

So if you wanna do these request, you can just walk a bit and pick them right away.

Again, those are just daily quests. Those are a direct downgrade from world quests.

If I want to go through the world quests I am be able to do so instead of having thirty-something quests clogging up my quest log. Reverting to daily quests would just be annoying.

I also hate it when Im doing a quest, and it sends me to where a WQ is active. The minimap becomes useless, cant see where my Quest area is half the time.

I mean, who says it even needs to be that much to begin with?

Could just be 3-4 quest per zone at most.

Plus, one positive from the WQs was adding more variety, which was an issue Dailies had, and well thats a no brainer on how to fix.

And i can say the same on how annoying WQs can be when i dont wanna do them, like Meri said, when theyre on top of an actual quest and messing up the minimap, or dealing with the NPCs constantly yelling at you whenever you get near them.

Daily quests are just world quests, but with the added step of having to get and then later turn in the quest.

Y’all usually act like you have to shave every second off of everything you do in this game even if it quite literally kills your character, so some of these answers are a little surprising.

Ask them to help you, if they want company that much.

My friends and I loved doing dailies to earn points/marks to purchase better gear
from the vendor. That was the only reason why we were still playing long after
reaching level cap. I hardly ever do the world quests. I usually just quit playing
or level another character. Until I quit playing.

Would you do daily quests for the exact same rewards as you get from the current world quests?

Once again, doesnt even need to be the exact same level of reward or amount of quests.

We can reduce the amount of quests and increase the reward to compensate, which would also make them feel a bit more impactful.

Why would it not be the same rewards from the same quest?

Because its less quests? which means we would get less reward unless we increase the reward to compensate.

Or do you really prefer doing over 20+ quests vs 10 or so quest that reward the same in total, but with half the amount of quest needed.

(this is just a random number)

For me I think I prefer how dailies are presented rather than world quests having the talking heads pop up all over the map. Yeah you don’t have to travel at all to turn the quest in but it isn’t as quiet of a journey when you’re traveling through the zones. Such a minor complaint but hey, it’s my preference. I play with the game music and sound on all the time.

Again, the rewards would remain the same. What you are describing now has nothing to do with how you prefer daily quests and you now want to just get the same rewards from fewer quests.

I much prefer world quests unless I am pushing a rep grind. The dailes down in Undermine on the Kaja Coast helped me a few times with that final push to exalted.

But no, in general I ignore dailies. I do kind of regret not taking more of the cooking dailies in classic. I try to grab one here and there for old time’s sake when in Ironforge.
