I remember this being a thing back in the day for rage generation, but I don’t remember if it persisted up to 1.12.
If you find one with stats, why not?

Pretty sure its better for races w/o weapon spec, but still damn good especially if youre not 60

For tanking just like with dps.
Dps is the most important stat on your weapon.
Dps being equal or near equal faster weapon speed is beneficial for tanking.
Faster swings helps even out rage and threat generation which is nice, and it would allow you to use heroic strike more often if you have enough rage to burn on heroic strikes.
But remember heroic strike is your lowest priority threat gen and should only be used if you are using every gcd on revenge/sunder and still generating enough rage to also cast heroic strike cause capping rage is bad.
Weapon type means nothing unless you have a racial or item that gives weapon skill to a particular type of weapon.
So humans and orcs prob wouldnt want them but its not bad for them.
Everyone else its perfectly fine.
Def stats on your weapon are nice but usually you wanna focus your weapon as dps, if you have two equal weapons and one has def stats and the other doesn’t take the def one.
