So at 658 it will be better but why even introduce an item that is Ilvl to ilvl weaker than anything else?

Ok, I just read on Ravenholdt that it is the Procs that make the difference.

"*Legendary Skipper’s Citrine *
Equip: Your spells and abilities have a chance to cast a random Singing Citrine effect at 150% effectiveness.

This can also proc Roaring War-Queen’s Citrine even when it’s not equipped, proccing the gem effects of other players around you as well as your own. This makes it insanely strong and we gained 1.5% across the board due to this implementation"

So don’t use it. Problem solved.

That doesn’t solve the problem. The problem is Blizzard released an item that is supposed to be a special BiS item and it was released in a terrible state. Not using it doesn’t solve that.

Right now, it’s good on Aug/tanks/healers.

For it to be good on regular DPS, we need a gems that either aren’t available, or just haven’t been found yet.

How they made this substantially worse than The Forbidden Reach, is beyond me. What is even more shocking, is they planned on releasing the ring at 619 right up until today, when they buffed it to 639, and it is still trash lol.

Like how do they mess up that bad?

Not sure why they would release gems that are good for some and not others. Oh well. I don’t plan on going back to the island until those gems are available.

The forbidden reach ring had the opposite problem, where it was too good to the point where some specs would have been wearing it well into S4 if not for the nerfs.

And yet somehow also so bad other specs wouldn’t even wear it over something 30 ilvls lower.

Everyone keeps saying it will be way better than anything else currently available once it’s upgraded all the way, which would make sense, except the proc damage and stats on the gems don’t go up with the rings ilvl. I’m not sure if this is just a visual bug or what, but if it’s intentional it means the ring’s ilvl is pointless beyond inflating your average.

I feel like most of the community is not even asking for something unreasonable and so overpowered that it breaks the meters…we just wants something a little more exceptional than our current gear…I don’t think that’s too far fetched

I am seeing 211,268 at 642 for the damage proc and wowhead shows it at 176128.86 at 619. I think you are having a visual bug.

well I’m a tank, mine is supposed to be a lot lower, but I looked at the numbers before and after using the upgrade item, and they didn’t change even after a complete relog and a ui reload

It’s what happens when some specs scale absurdly well with secondary stats, and other’s don’t.

Some will want the flat damage, others will want the stats.

It’s painfully obvious they’re scared of making it ‘too good’ because then they would have to nerf it so it isn’t better than undermine rings. When they did that for annulet, players threw a massive fit. So now they’re giving us lukewarm gruel so we don’t feel bad about replacing it almost immediately.

im assuming its supposed to be like the ring we got during the REACH back in dragonflight. Right now they are still working out the kinks, but by season 2 the ring should be bis for most.

I was underperforming in a +8 grim batol key today… because I have the ring, on my BM hunter, I was doing A LOT better before I got the ring. I should not be below the tank, at all.

If it was an upgrade on week 1 you’d be in danger of having fun for too long. Give it 5 weeks and there might be gems and a buff that makes it useful for the last 2-3 weeks of the season.

Maybe.

I hope they just make it a 2 season ring cause this little this late don’t make sense.

Did you sim all possible gems or just whatever gems you got so far?
