Cypher rewards not increasing in ilevel with increased Cypher Research

Noticed this on two different alt characters. Ranked up cypher research to 5 and neither saw an ilevel increase in the various rewards from world quests/dailies. The ilevel of rewards updated immediately prior to 10.0, and this content still matters for at least a few more weeks, please fix it.

Just checked a 3rd alt: 233 (baseline) rewards did not increase once rank 2 Cypher research was completed. So yeah, this is borked atm.

If you increased your cypher rank while a world quest or daily was up, try logging out and back in again to trigger the increase on those quests. Reloading didn’t seem to work for me when I experienced that, but relogging did.

This is a different issue. The Cypher Console is reporting a different Cypher Equipment Level than what’s affecting the item levels in the open world content. The issue with item level increases after spending Cyphers was corrected prior to 10.0 and appears to still be fixed.

Also seeing this on an alt. Did the usual log out and back in after trying to reload the UI. Also logged onto another character and back out. This is quite different from my pre 10.0 experience with the Zereth Mortis zone on other characters where increasing the cypher research level also increased the level of the gear drops from world quests yet to be completed.

Can confirm this is either broken or Blizz is once again nerfing open world players gear progression to try and shove them all into instanced content.

Since it’s open world content, and they don’t give two ****s about open world, don’t expect this to be fixed and told by other players, it won’t matter once the expansion hits and if you want gear, just run LFR or something.

The equipment is still upgrading; I have one toon that went from 246 to 249 even with the broken counter. Currently working on a second one that, assuming I can earn 260 Cyphers tonight, should see a bump to 252. You just can’t rely on the console to tell you what level you’re at.
