Blizzard needs to do another customization pass over all the races. I’ve seen what customization Dracthyr have (And it sucks you can only have 1 of em per realm as of now) and it is pretty nutty, not gonna lie. They put a lot of work into Dracthyr customization, which begs the question… why don’t they do another customization pass over all the other races as well?
They led us on pre-shadowlands that they were going to be putting out a metric S*** ton of customization options throughout the expansion then basically went ‘lol nope just kidding’. Redeem yourselves, Blizzard. Bobby doesn’t need another Yacht, use that money to pay some artists and crank out more customization options for all the races, starting with those that have the least customization options and working your way up.
I do agree with op and I would like it if every patch they could add something here and there to the races even if it’s allowing a hair style or two at a time to be used by any race that has hair
They promised and they gave us sh** ton of customizations. But problem is they focused them all on rainbow dragons.
That is too much work for them to make player base happy. If in near future any EA type contest come out that brings money and it’s all about customize your character blizzard will do that for sure.

Where are the gold tusk caps?
Where are the gems for gauge plugs?
Where are the neck tattoos, the opulence?
Don’t even get me started on hairstyles. There are so many things we COULD have, but don’t for reasons unknown to me.
Character customization desperately needs to be modernized. I would love to see a system that offers more freedom than is currently allowed to us. I’m not sure how easy this would be to implement, but right off the bat:
Ability to separately choose your eyes, nose, and lips instead of just having static face options.
Ability to change things like your character’s facial expression (scowling, neutral, smiling), and the age they appear as (youthful, weathered, wrinkled).
Speaking as a Nightborne player, the Dracthyr having such expansive customization on launch wouldn’t bother me as much if it was evident the same amount of care and quality went into other races as well.
In patch 9.1.5, the Nightborne received the laziest, poor quality, low effort customization options. It was clear they were hastily put together to quell the backlash they received for announcing that there would be no further customization in Shadowlands.
My options as a female troll are either to be one of those stereotypical motorcycle emo girls with half my head shaved off, braids, or some wacky one, or straight hair. Why add allied races if you’re going to entirely neglect them? At this point, they’re just skins. It’s sad how Blood Elves have more customization than all the races combined. Like omg, just talking about this makes me angry. I unlocked a race just to have nothing to decorate with.
I wouldn’t be upset by this either, if anything mainly Allied Races, we’ve been neglected. We were never Blizzard’s babies, we should’ve been because we’re the youngest, but they like the “older kid” better.
I somehow agree and disagree-- the NB changes we got in 9.1.5 I love so much I race changed a toon to be NB. I LOVE what we got, but you are right in that it is not sufficient.
I just want my ZT to have diamonds where her gauges are so bad. I want her to have beautiful, flowing hair. I’d love to see the sidecut hairstyle but with long, wavy hair. I should build a protfolio and send it to Blizz so they can tell me to take a hike lol.
