Customization Disappointment

Ah, yes. Here we are again! The classic Blizzard bait and switch of saying one thing and going back on it and doing the opposite. After hearing about customization getting the chop in Shadowlands, I’ve been extremely upset. I feel as if Blizzard continues to ask players for suggestions while simultaneously ignoring those suggestions. I’ve compiled a list on what should be added, as many races got next to nothing.

  • Nightborne. Fix them. Why are the NPC options 100000 times better than what we got? They need: new skin colors, hairstyles, hair colors, tattoo options, maybe an arcane glow, different eye colors/shades, new face options, scars (add beards for males).
  • Allowing male races (mostly Horde) to have eyebrows and beards. Trolls, Orcs, and Goblin males do not have eyebrows for whatever reason. Allow for more beard options.
  • Blood Elf male: beards and jewelry, whether it be the body jewelry options or the ones that female Blood Elves got.
  • Pandaren … Where to begin? They ruined many of the textures for male Pandaren hair & beards. Let males have long tails. More hairstyles, scar options, adding patterns onto fur (like Vulpera).
  • Worgen … Tails, the outcry has been there for ages. More face options, fur patterns (like Vulpera), scar options, letting Worgen just have a huge mane instead of hairstyles.
  • Allowing for hairstyle effects, similar to Dark Iron Dwarves. Nightborne get something Arcane-related, Void Elves get a void effect, etc.
  • Every race should be able to have black hair, I don’t make the rules.
  • Race-themed jewelry and tattoo options, along with adding more hairstyles to races that have little to choose from to begin with. A lot of what players want are readily found on NPC assets or are easy fixes.
  • Hair colors & skin colors that represent different splinters within that race. EX: Blonde hair for Void Elves (High Elves), forest troll/drakkari/etc. skin colors for Trolls. Grimtotem warpaint/colors for Tauren, etc.

Why is there nothing on Void Elf hair?

Just trying to avoid getting harassed and trolled?

I don’t care about getting trolled or harassed. I think Void Elves should be able to have blonde, white & black hair options to suit the High Elf vibe. /shrug

Wasn’t sure because it wasn’t listed.

There are so many Alliance players I run into playing a High Elf… but with our one high elf hair color and two that are close. Mostly the ashy grey.

I think Blizzard only gave the Void Elves the eye color/skin tint to make people shut up about High Elves. I do think that Void Elves still deserve hair colors that pay homage to the High Elves. It’s only fair.

They talk about the social issues of Horde vs Alliance…

but it seems like the lead devs are pretty tribal horde players.

Give us Forest Trolls first.

Didn’t they give you forest troll customization options? All we got were customization options.

You’re green.

Also first is absurd. It’s not mutually exclusive.

There are no playavle high elves

If you mouse over your character whats it say

Cute trolling.

This is the sort of tribalism / horde dunking I’m talking about.

Youre a high elf lookin void elf is all idc what you wanna rp about though

Yikes Ion himself says Blood Elves exist and High Elves were something they wanted to do lmao.

No.

Not at all. My Troll is turquoise.
But funny how you insist to play a golden boy and then write something like that. Nice thanks!

No, it’s not. You have the Wildhammer, the High Elves (basically) and every WC II Alliance race back.
The Horde deserves equality in this regard. Heck we would be still missing Ogres.

I don’t get why customization are such a big deal for blizz… Its not like they should be that difficult to implement. These things should have been out years ago with more customization added regularly.

They could simply task one person to play with these things and implement it gradually.
It looks like terrible management issue.

Even some of the races that did get a lot should get a few extra things added and options fixed.

There’s still some hairstyles and beards they made for Orcs, humans, and Night Elves that they never added, and even some of the eye colors for humans that they showed off at Blizzcon 2019 never made it in along with eye shape options and underlying textures for the new hairstyles.

Every single race should also receive scar options that are fully separate from faces and skin colors. It’s not fair that some races get to have this while a few races have scars linked to faces/skin colors and many others do not get to have scars at all.

Precisely. On top of that, there are many, many talented players and artists who’ve given plenty of suggestions. It’s almost like willful ignorance on Blizzard’s end at this point.

It’s usually easy for them as simple minded people like us (majority) often use the words “devs” instead of “decision makers” or “leaders” or “management”.

They avoid having to be subject to negative opinion simply because people use stuff like “these devs are lazy” and continue to ride their horses.

It’s not going to change. They’re just going to be laughing their way to the bank.
