Customer support

I’m very sorry to say but blizzard’s customer support needs serious attention.
It goes worse and worse over the years and nowdays it is not even in place to provide any kind of support, instead they are linking third party sources to just provide information about the problems you are facing without providing any kind of solution.

Here’s my “glorious” latest experience:

“Support”:

Generally, as you understand, my experience for the past years with customer support is similar with this case if not worse. I do have a high amount of tolerance, but my guess not everyone does. Regardless, this is not an acceptable service in my book.

Thanks for reading and I hope this feedback gets you somewhere.

100%. They might as well be useless AI chatbots at this point. It’s all copy+paste one of the following:

  1. Did you check wowhead?
  2. Report it as a bug.
(I’ll never understand this one. SURELY, they must have better channels of communication than the players.)
  3. There’s nothing we can do.

The last time I had an actual support GM genuinely help me was back in MoP when a cata quest was bugged and they piloted my character through it.

Nowadays they neither help you in the case of errors on blizzard’s end nor genuine mistakes that seem simply reversible. For example, in shadowlands Ve’nari sold gem sockets that could be used on off-pieces like belts. I had a heroic belt and a new mythic of the exact same name. I used it on the belt I had equipped, and since the popup warning [[DO YOU WANT TO USE THIS ON THE BELT OF SO AND SO?]] doesn’t indicate item level I clicked yes because that was the name of the belt. Turns out the heroic belt had been re-equipped when I swapped specs. I provided support with my WarcraftLogs of all the raids and keys I had done to show that there was clearly no advantage derived from this because I never used the socketed item. They still refused. After a couple days of back and forth they eventually just told me to stop replying or they’d action my account.

Now, they spent time copy+pasting 4-5 replies and writing a new support article, rather than a few keystrokes to delete an old item and generate a new socket.

I don’t know why they call it customer support, because they aren’t supporting us. Customers are treated as hostiles by support.

And the next reply to my case is a continuation of this comedy…

I honestly do not know if GMs have the ability to do that or are allowed to. They may not have the tools or may not have the permission to do so. I believe they are somewhat limited in what they can do when it comes to items/restoration/etc.

Back in the day they had vast powers. At this point what DO they have the power to do other than paste links to wowhead, support articles, or bug tickets?

Most of what they used to do is now automated so that they don’t waste their time restoring items that can be restored through the tool or getting players unstuck/fixing login issues. That was what I used GMs for most of the time back in the day.
