Custom Addon Created for Layering Exploit

The TOS exists to let blizzard do what they want, they never apply it if they dont want to, players learned long ago that silence from blizz is a greenlight to go ahead.

Wow… good thing the money limit is 2^31 copper.

This could really get out of hand!!

The US government also allows terrorist cells to flourish while they gather intel in order to crush them in time…

You’re right.

Silence IS a sign.

If we notice someone posting thousands of lotus, arcane crystal, ect in ludicrous amounts from clear layer abuse: We blacklist them.

Rep is important in classic. Spread the word, tell people, have them blacklisted. A huge chunk of their profits will drop when people ignore them on the AH. It’s not perfect but it helps.

Here’s the thing. I have no idea how an addon of this nature would work. Out of curiosity I did a search for one and couldn’t find one. As far as I know there is no API call to get your layer id and /who shouldn’t work for this purpose. Then you have the auto-grouping to shift layers which should be blocked…

It’s likely just chat call outs for invites, if this is actually happening.

The manner is specifically listed in the OP.

Use it and abuse it.

I couldn’t care less about your blacklist if I have 40 stacks of black lotus.

Everyone in this thread makes a good point. Yes, people are abusing layering and this will affect the economy a bit but the economy always bounces back. The wow developers talked about layering and the importance that it played on launch week. They also said they will be removing it before phase 2, and I have been hearing rumors that they have already removed a few layers. I don’t like that layering allows abuse but I think it will smooth over eventually.

We all know about the first level 60 using exploits, we all know about that pirate server guild using exploits. Has Blizzard done anything yet?

Nope,

therefore as much as I hope that they would start banning the cheaters, they simply put won´t as they do not care about Classic.
It´s D3 all over again, there the AH was ruined by exploiters too and suprise, they were streamers too.

At this point we can all just hope for TBC, maybe they won´t allow those exploits then, by simply not having the loopholes.

It´s a shame to see Classic ruined like this.

I can’t find anything about this.
Do you have proof?

more BS and FAKE NEWS… fake images, nonsensical stories…

layer abuse is real but not in the scale this people are talking, just cut a couple of hours to get 60.

the fact is: if you and many others need to spread false information to prove your point ===> total BS!

Why can the API allow players the ability to make addons like this?

You ever go to whisper someone and you notice it says Hugesloot-Area 52?

On classic I’ve noticed people on a different layer will carry the server tag.

It’s more likely that an addon would just randomly invite a player from /who to group. The additional calculations and operations aren’t really necessary to achieve the exploit.

Actually layering isn’t part of the Vanilla experience and exploiting it is forbidden. When we look at the LFG addon which Blizzard said isn’t allowed with how it works because it ruins the social structure of the game.

Exploiting layering ruins the economic structure of the game and of course it is forbidden to use addons or anything to tarnish the original gameplay design.

These are simple facts that have been stated by Blizzard. Their stance is clear on trying to give everyone the most authentic experience possible. Anything going clearly against that. Isn’t allowed and will be fixed.

OP is a massive troll. Please ignore him.

He’s posted a bunch of these threads without any proof whatsoever.

Making a hash out of someone’s “/who” result isn’t going to tell you what layer you’re in it’s just going to tell you what your /who list returned. If it’s more than 50 then it’ll be different than someone else even if you’re both in the same layer b/c their /who will have people your /who didn’t have. As people come and go in Org it’ll also generate a different hash which is again not tied to a layer at all. Also, someone mentioned /who isn’t layer specific.

If this addon exists and it works then I doubt that this is how it does it. Did you mean to say hash table instead of hash?

There’s already public ones you can find on google, putting the addon out there isnt a bad thing
