This has to be the worst designed weekly quest ever, and that’s saying something.
- There are finite number of spawns, no matter how fast you kill them.
- After finishing, I had 19 Keepsake Corruption.
- Extra copies of the item cost 100 Keepsake Corruption.
- Keepsake Corruption currency have a duration that has them disappear on weekly reset.
- Can only do the instance once per week, so can’t farm more.
- Bonus: If you leave the zone or disconnect, the Cursed Keepsake no longer has a sell option.
In closing, this entire quest offers a currency that is designed to be useless. I challenge anyone to point to a worse designed weekly quest.

If you can kill the mobs in the pools on the floor you can get more currency. I don’t think that is made sufficiently clear to players.
The fact that the currency is limited duration feels punitive. Duplicates cost 100 each. I came out of last week’s quest with 83 currency that expired yesterday. I wouldn’t mind saving up to buy extras, but as it is, I just had something taking up a bag slot annoying me.
In addition, you can only use the currency at the moment of turn-in, because the quest-giving item can and does change on some mysterious cycle, and you can’t interact with it after it does. Being able to spend the currency with the Last Architect would be preferable.
I have also heard a few people say the quest item changed while they were doing the scenario, so the went in thinking they were getting one thing but came out and got another.
Grouping for the scenario is weird. I was grouped with one random player last week. I’ve heard other people say they landed solo, or they were grouped with 2 random people.
Apparently you can neighborhood-hop to find the object you want, so there’s that. Assuming the item doesn’t change while you’re in the scenario.
It’s a hell of a way to get a pineapple cup, and I am honestly surprised more people aren’t complaining about it.

Yeah. I did that, but this week it put me into the instance myself. Last week, I was with two other people, so I assumed it was always three people. I pulled all the mobs to pools, but only ended with 119 currency. Had to use 100 to turn in for the quest. That left me with 19, which is useless.
This kinda happened to me today. When I came out, it had changed to something else, but I was able to turn in the quest and get the item listed in the quest line.

Yeah, the grouping mechanic is really weird. I’d prefer to do it solo so I could do the mechanic.
There are a couple of things I’d like to see different.
- Make the currency an actual currency so I can save up for duplicates OR
- Eliminate the currency and let us buy dupes with gold/marl.
- Make it function more like the Arcantina quests, i.e.: we have to do the quest once to unlock the thing, and then we can buy more from a vendor who is not a rotating questgiver who may not always be there.

I will say, the first week I did it, I didn’t realize you could buy duplicates for 100 each, so I had a few hundred go to waste, which is a shame, because last week, I had a skull with a candle on it as the reward.
I assume it will come around again, though.
And yes, the quest could be explained better.

I think this needs a rework too…
Both times I did kt, I was desperately trying pull mobs into the pools, but the other players were pulling them out again, probably assuming “don’t stand in the bad,” which is actually a solid assumption in this game.
Then, the item changed the first week, and never changed back so all my currency expired before I could buy more.
It’s ridiculous. Either let us run the scenario for each item, or if we can only run it weekly, then keep the same item there all week.

I didn’t realize the currency went away, I think I had around 400 yesterday, got the candle, bought an extra candle and called it a night. I might have to hop back in and buy a couple more, assuming I can, before the currency goes away. Weird that it does…

Easier said than done with the NPC running around and fighting them outside the actual area.
I think the quest should be repeatable throughout the week. Do the quest, get the item. Rinse and repeat to get multiples.

Last week I ended up with 94 of the currency, which of course expired. The design of this weekly is the worst I can remember ever seeing in this game.
Why put such ridiculous limits on a decor item? If someone wants to grind out the scenario over and over to get more of the currency, then they should be allowed to do so and the players who get unlucky in the scenario by getting grouped with people who don’t understand the mechanics or get a disconnect or any other occurrence that prevents them from getting enough currency to get more of the item shouldn’t be punished for it.
The currency shouldn’t expire. The item should remain available for the entire week instead of changing randomly and preventing the purchase of duplicates. The scenario should be repeatable during the week. These changes would make it much more acceptable and make it a little easier for players to actually learn how to best do the scenario.
I would prefer the quest to just unlock the decor and let you purchase it with a different currency such as coupons or marl or even gold but just making the currency grindable and remove the expiration would be a huge improvement.

Yes please. We don’t need a one-off expiring currency. It doesn’t make the game more enjoyable.

Yeah, my “if” was doing a lot of work there.

Yes to this!
We already have way too many currencies in WoW as it is now. We certainly did not need another.

This has got to be one of THE worst things in the game right now. Absolutely ridiculous system and I hate it completely.

We get something out of it??? This is a genuine question, not a troll question. I just thought we went somewhere instanced and killed the things. I did not realize we could possibly get something out of it.
ETA: Where does one buy the item from this quest? Not that I see an item, unless we are talking about the item in the pink bubble. Clearly I do not understand this quest at all.

So, you get the quest to go into the instance, and when you finish the instance, you get one copy of whatever the decor of the week for that quest is. You can then talk to the quest giver (it’s either the Last Architect or the glowing ball next to him), and spend 100 of the currency you get in the instance to buy additional copies of that decor piece.
While in the instance, if you kill the mobs on the patches of green nasty stuff, you can earn more of the currency.

So, just as a data point, I went into the scenario thinking I was getting the drac’thyr stein. I came out and got a Purified Ancient Urn.

Eliminate the expiring currency, completing the scenario unlocks the item, we buy dupes with gold, marl or community coupons, because it is logical. Eliminate player friction, it sucks!

For the amount of items available and the randomness of the whole thing, this should be a daily quest not weekly.

When you complete the quest, you get one of the item in the bubble. If you still have 100 or more of the cursed keepsake currency, you can click on the item in the bubble and buy additional copies.

I waited until today (Monday middle of day) to do the cursed keepsake quest. I was in a solo instance and tried to kill each mob in a separate puddle (not always successful). I came close to dying as I was trying to kill things one at a time and pulled too many at once. I ended up with around 550 after turning the quest in. It’s still not great though if it were for an item that I really wanted a bunch of. The duration of the currency is set to run out at the weekly reset so you can’t try to do it late and save some for the next week’s item.
It just feels like a very unrewarding way to distribute decor items that a player might want more than 3 or 4 of. It really should be a quest to unlock and buy extras with gold, coupons, or marl instead.
