So I’m returning from a good few months break of WoW. Currently what is considered “good” item level? I just hit 362 and am curious. I’ve yet to push into the raids (not even LFR except to kill Jaina). I’m waiting on that until I get a few other things out of the way. My definition of “good” isn’t mythic. That’s like the elite. What is a good ilvl that a normal raid would def. pull in and a heroic would be down for? Or how about for PVP? What ilvl would the average player base be?
Since emissary rewards go up to 400 now I would say 400 minimum. If I recall baseline mythic dungeon drops 370? A tour could boost you quickly. Then do a low level key. Be sure to do your warfront and just keep on the grind. You will get there.

Since Heroic raid drops 400 gear, I’d say 400 is a good average ilvl with maybe 1/3rd war/titanforge boosting you up to 405-410 overall
I know that’s my goal before the next patch.
It’s really easy to get to ilevel 400. I’m a casual that hardly raids or do mystic+ and I’m sitting at 401. Not only that but I have a full set (head,chest,shoulders) of 405 Azerite gear for all my specs. So if I get bored of Frost spec I can change to Fire no problem.
390 plus if you are pugging.
You don’t have to touch any meaningful end game content to hit 400, OP. Which is, sadly enough, equal to heroic raiding gear.
What’s an ilvl good to start doing mythic dungeons and keys? How about for normal raids and heroic raids?
retail wow is about your io score if you dont jump through the raider io hoops you ilvl doesnt matter.
thats how bad it has gotten in wow and will get much worse in the next expansion as long as m+ is around.
An ilvl of360ish is fine for Mythic Dungeons, while an ilvl of 375 or so is good for Normal Battle of Dazar’alor (for the first few bosses) since it drops ilvl 385 loot. A good ilvl to get if you’re super casual is between 390-400, which can easily be done via WQs, emissaries, warfronts and some low M+.
I would start with mythic but no key.
Even if you are not loot eligible run it anyway, over and over. Grt to know the pulls, the skip routes, all of it.
Learn abilities like itnis second nature (advice I should follow but the people j run keys with are way better than me haha)
Once you feel comfortable start with a low key and build your own key up u Tim you feel you are st the edge of your gear ability.
As for raiding, normal drops 385 gear Heroic 400.
At this point you are going to have a harder time find g a group until. You are ator above those numbers. People simply want a clear as fast and pain free at this poi t as they can get.
sub 400 is low
400 is average
410-414 is above average
415-419+ is great
420+ is excellent
