Current transmog

For those who are wearing their current transmog for whatever class you play. How long did it take for you guys (and gals) to obtain every piece?

Yes I know you can get pieces from a lot of sources but did it take you guys weeks, months? Just wondering because I see a ton of people with cool transmogs while running around the cities.

Also what ilvl do people start mogging? Do you tmog 600 ilvl pieces or just hide/ignore them because you will change them soon? Also what ilvl do you start enchanting them, I use cheap ones on low ilvl or none for boots

Also make tmog apply to the slot and not the item :tooth:

I set up my transmog at level 10 since that’s the earliest i can mount on the yak or the bear. If I was less lazy I’d drop the toy at level 1 to do it tho.
Fashion is Forever. Always be collecting anything you think might be usable to save you needing to grind it later.

I dont know how long. I had them when I created it.

I mostly just find a helm or shoulders I like and find something that fits it, while trying to avoid full sets.

I’m currently wearing my Dark Iron Dwarf heritage armor set. Didn’t take me long, and its the best looking Dwarf armor in the game so far.

The next set I’m currently farming for is the Alliance tier 3 plate set from BFA arathi warfront…but its been taking me months!

most transmog doesnt take long to obtain if you have >5 max level alts

park your alts at the desired dungeon/raids and farm for a few minutes from time to time

only the time limited events or the reputation vendor are slow to obtain

I’m still getting gear of good enough quality to transmog on my main, but it took me literally until this year to finish it. Finally got my Dreadnought shoulders in…January or February.

Not very long for a lot of them. A good part I don’t even remember getting?

This current mog I scrounged together and I think it came out real good. I try to avoid full sets if I can help it.

I assume I got a lot of what I have just running old stuff and getting lucky, even if it wasn’t exactly what I was gunning for.

i dont suppose long at all since some are vendor, some are trading post, and some are shop. maybe a few from old raids or quests, but i cant really remember all the details

The one I’m wearing is just the normal Nighthold set at the moment and it took me a few weeks of running nighthold on a couple mail toons to get it. I swapped to hunter at the end of BFA so I could just go in and clear the raid solo to farm the pieces.

That depends, honestly. The PvP parts (head, chest and legs) took a bit of time to grind out, some of which was done during Cata.

The shoulders, gauntlets and boots were from Legion class halls, so…a few weeks, I guess at launch.

Weapon…ended up getting some help for that about halfway through Legion.

The cloak was the legendary one from BfA, so again a few weeks in total. The belt was from the trading post.

In total, it actually didn’t take long from a gameplay perspective. It was just spread out over a number of years as new things released. I love mixing and matching, so it started in one form and sort of evolved.

Had this set for years the only thing that was added was the shoulders and tabard in DF. Exalted set has been in the game since Vanilla.

This particular one?

Not very long tbh. All of the pieces I were ones I collected while farming for specific other pieces.

But I’ve been a collector, even an armour collector, long before transmog was a concept in wow. Through TBC and Wrath, I collected gear on my first main and kept it in my bank. I even used an add-on that auto-equipped those pieces when I entered a main city (and swapped out to my spec gear when I left).

So when transmog went live, I had a tonne of leather gear in addition to the stuff the game gave you.

I feel your plight because I just started playing an Evoker and that is my first mail-wearer. So my mail mogs aren’t on the same level as my leather or plate.

My advice to you is just start farming. There is cool gear everywhere.

Now that I have a warbank for alts to grab some money, I’m mogging my starter gear.

Mog is life.

There’s Xmog NPCs in Org and SW, you could xmog at lvl 1 if you want.

I start mogging immediately. I’m not leveling looking like a clown.

Champion and below gets two star enchants/gems. Heroic and above get the expensive stuff. Blue quality or less never gets enchanted.

As to how long did it take for me to farm mog? A full set from a raid might take weeks or months. Or anything from a repgrind might take weeks. This hunter however is mostly just in what allied race hunters get by default.

I’m not running all the way to a city to do my mog just to run all the way back to the starting zone on a garbage 60% mount.

Maybe a few hours without sleep when it was released. :coffee::robot:

A little over a year.

The tabard never comes off, that’s the only real ‘permanent’ part of my mogs.

All of my characters are neutral, Argent Dawn members since I play both sides.

That being said, TWW added a lot of cool fish and bone-themed pieces befitting of a Kul’Tiran.

I’m likely not to change this for some time.
