Current Toxicity of WOW

Ever since DF came out the game feels better than SL but the community has gotten much much more toxic in very short amount of time. Obviously the social contract is working very well. What can we do as a people to fix this? I don’t see any option other than leaving the game at this point. Anyone that has respect for themselves as a human should not put up with the things i see on a daily basis in all forms of WOW. Blizzard seems fit to wave their hands and change nothing in game to make it a less toxic environment. (increase drop rates, make M+ less toxic, etc). I feel like the responsibility of toxicity is being pushed on the playerbase and blizz’s part in the toxicity is never acknowledged. Just look at what FF14 has been able to build. Not toxic free experience but definitely nothing even close to what blizzard has created.
My love for the game is gone. Every group is always toxic. Most guilds are toxic. It’s a full time job to find people to play with.
I’d play a single player experience wow all day long and dump money into every year. Due to the community, i think ive finally been beaten to a bloody pulp. I guess more money for me and less money for Blizz.
(incoming wave of toxic players saying any problem you have is because you=bad)

I dont remember the last time I saw anything “toxic”.

But nice FFXIV ad posting.

Edit : Because some people won’t get the meaning of what I am saying. I am not saying it doesnt exist, but I do think some people look for it to complain about. And that its not as common as people want us to believe.

Every aspect of WoW is PvP now and i say this as a PvP main content player since BC

Only basic dungeons feel not so.

Joining groups you compete for slots for raid m+, competing yyour score, experience, gear, etc

WoW is not a relaxing game you’re constantly fighting others even in team play ánd vault forcing you to do content you don’t want to continue optimal gearing.

2’s is only paltry 90 honor a win

RSS/RBGs is 1000+

Few people are having fun

in the gaming sphere FF14 is widely accepted as less toxic than say wow, cod, or LOL, or even SC2 i think lol

Hearsay, but odds are this guy would also find toxicity there as well. If everywhere they go it stinks, might be they’re the stinky one.

On the cutscene part, try not skipping cutscenes in Lost Ark. You’ll see what toxicity is.

So your source on FFXIV being nice isn’t personal experience?

Makes me think your source on WoW being toxic is similar.

FF players aren’t screeching at top of lungs cause you afk to take a bio break.

It was hilarious to see WoW players, all run to EW for first 2 months do moronic behavior like run ahead of tank, and tanks and healers in ff just let you die then vote kick you for beimg a prick.

People got held accountable fast and QQed -and quit.

I played FF all legion->now -and still do cause Acti-blizz killed pvp til recent.

The casual experience is much different. You’re allowed to not be a sweaty addict that pisses in a bottle.

FF even won a reward for it’s positive community, but watch how some wow players will get triggered over it anyway.

Do you need to touch the stove to realize the fire is potentially bad for you or that you won’t enjoy the experience?

I can eat food and say I dislike it. It doesn’t have to be “Perfectly” prepared by a master chef to realize foods I enjoy and don’t enjoy.

I quit reading the dialogue in FF14 after 6hrs, but continued playing for a month (before free sub) then uninstalled. It wasn’t grabbing my attention really. “Do any job you want.” — i’m still leveling/changing again. Its a good fix for FF14 because of how lengthy it is as a game, but its not something I would care to repeat multiple times. If anything its a compensation for intentional story design.

Threats of ban oughta have something to do with this. Beside, I’ve tried once to help a player do their rotation correctly (a BLM only casting blizzard spells) and been called toxic so :man_shrugging:

How is my assumption toxic in nature?

You stated you are going off of hearsay in that FFXIV is a much nicer games. How is the assumption you’d do the same thing with the other half of your opinion a toxic assumption?

I am being toxic by assuming you’d act the same way you already act?

Does that make your original act toxic?

That’s your personal expierence. Again, that game won a reward, (wow doesn’t win anything anymore btw), while wow players are usually considered toxic and I mean… just take the wow forums as a very good example for it.^^

That is bait and an interesting strawman but hey knock yourself out.

I deleted my comment because its clear you didn’t understand what I meant.

We are specifically talking about how FFXIV built a non toxic environment. Not how the game itself was designed from a game mechanic standpoint.

Its not bait or a strawman.

In game mods exist because… I’ll wait.

Police exist because… I’ll wait.
