Vengeance DH must be getting much from when Metamorphosis kicks in
No doubt they should, but using sim data for tanks is not the best way to get this across. Your warrior 8 target logs have your warrior in battle stance with a laughable IP cast number. Not to mention the S1 gear and specs that were used for each of these? Did you just pick top players and sim their current setups? What method did you use to determine how each tank should be spec’d out? The warrior you used is currently spec’d for maximizing dps over survivability for instance.
I mean, I watched Porsea run an entire Motherlode +15 in Battle Stance just fine so its not outside the realm of possibility.
They won’t adjust it until week 16 or so. Since DF, nothing changes at Blizzard until wll into the season or the end of expansion.
Umm…no, not even remotely true. At all.
All tank DPS is close enough to damage dealer DPS that I am just waiting for the day when a significant achievement comes from a raid full of different tanks.
Its not close enough at all.
Tanks on PTR are doing anywhere between 2m and 3m overall while many DPS classes are pushing 6m overall.
Single target has dps at 3m and tanks at 1.5m-2m
So anywhere between 40 and 60% of a DPS class. If you get beat by a tank in DPS thats legitimately a you issue, not tank balance.
I didn’t say it was “close” or “better” - I said it was “close enough” to damage classes. If it gets to a point where total raid DPS is higher because the tanks can survive everything, while DPS has a hard time staying up, or the tanks can ignore certain mechanics that DPS cannot (and have to sacrifice DPS to maintain survivability), then it would be possible for a raid full of tanks to get the boss down. It may not be that way now, but what I said was that I was “waiting for” this to become a thing.
Don’t hold your breath.
Thats currently possible – or at least possible in S1 Nerub’ar Palace. Its not optimal because:
A) You lose a significant amount of DPS and bosses take much longer to kill
B) Where would you even find 20+ tanks to run a raid
C) Having 20+ melee in a group is going to be awful for mechanics
D) Mechanics don’t really kill you unless you screw up
So this hypothetical is a non-starter. Also I don’t know why you’re worried when your profile shows you only completed LFR.
I get this is not the point of your post, but name a time when a warrior spec(s) was not meta or just outside in one content type or another, and especially in PVE. /puke. I refuse to main them because of their over representation year after year from the go.
Warriors are just mechanically good tanks for white damage because of how they’re designed. They’re always strong outside the meta because they’re reliable in that sense. To my knowledge, once a meta forms they’re not usually overrepresented, though.
I apologize, i am at work or i would take a deeper dive into the sims myself.
If you extend the test to say 10 minute run, do you see the same difference in numbers? 2 minute tests favor classes with more stacking damage cds (say Avatar, incarn, ect.) Compared to overall damage.
Are warriors mostly doing good single target? If you swap from Patchwork to say Council or adds, does warrior still excell in multi target fights or do other classes pass them?
Thanks in advance.
There was an all boomkin raid in shadowlands. Cheese happens.
Right on. Still, you are adding a layer of context that wasn’t in the original posting. I don’t think that the poster mentioned dungeons.
All very good questions.
I honestly did feel the Prot Warr Damage preseason.
That revenge just chops groups down, I wouldn’t be shocked to read a nerf tomorrow. Hopefully they don’t dumpster us down to Brewmaster, and buff Brew instead.
lmao.
After they let Brew stay as it was in S1, was kinda expecting them to be god tier s2 to compensate. I wonder what they’re planning.
