Just curious what you all think...with 8.1 coming out in December, do you think it's worth it to buy Darkmoon Deck: Fathoms?
Thing is going for 40-50 k on my server (im poor only rocking 62k atm). I'm worried this will be a silly short term investment cuz the new content items will just be better than Fathoms. Just sick of the RNG and trying to gain some control over my items.
Not worth it.
Spending 80% of your pool of cash on anything that will only last less than month is never a good idea. Real life or game wise.

Yeah I wouldn't buy it in your case. Was worth it if you were going to raid mythic or push high keys but no need otherwise.

Looks like you already bought it. That trinket sims similar to my 385 Construct. Its a very good trinket. Congrats.
Sold a 385 BoE wrist the other day for a healthy chunk of change. People like me hope you buy gear from the AH. I personally sell all I can and get gear from killing stuff.
It is a really good trinket especially for its ilvl, especially since Uldir trinkets are not that good. I guess if you don’t want to spend all the gold you could try to farm +s, as the best trinkets for rogues pretty much all come from M+.

100% worth it.
Also how will it only last a month?? Next tier isnt out until I'm guessing Feb 5th, first Tuesday in February.
Even then it still beats whatever your other trinket is so you will replace fathoms last.

There is no better investment for a Rogue than Fathoms. It will last you all the way to mythic Uldir, and even then most of the trinkets are still worse. I have a 385 trinket that still sims 150dps lower than my 355 fathoms.
That being said, there is a bunch of new content about to come out with 8.1 in december. So It may be wise to wait till then. But in the current climate fathoms is 100% worth it.

The raid tier isnt out with 8.1 though. Like I said before the trinket is still worth buying, even if somehow you get a new trinket in whatever new content you're talking about with 8.1 it still wont replace fathoms, it would only replace your other trinket. Fathoms is better than your other trinket.
At 373 ilevel I’m still using mine which I got in week 2 of the xpac, it’s certainly aged well. The Uldir trinkets are terrible.
I’ve had mine about 2 to 3 weeks in the xpac, still the best trinket with sims for me.
Interesting. I was considering buying one as well but was afraid is wasn’t going to be worth the investment. This thread makes me feel it will be better than anything I’ll get for a long time since the new raid tier isn’t coming out for a while.
Does rated PvP have a chance to drop good trinkets that will a be a great one for PvP? Is fathoms good in PvP?
Does anyone know what ilvl of world quest items will be in 8.1? Could they be as high of an ilvl as fathoms, and if so, will they even be as good?

Absolutely. It won’t be replaced by anything lower than 385/390
