Current Population Ratios

I’ve seen plenty of articles with info about the Classic WoW server populations and how the factions compare, but I can’t seem to find any that are updated. They’re all from when the game first launched, and I’m curious to see if anything has changed since then for a few specific servers. Are there any out there that actually stay updated?

Currently accurate until Blizz finds a way to break this one lol.

How do these addons get the information?

The addon runs a series of /who commands for each level/class/alphabetical name to see who is online on your faction at the time. Over time it builds up a database of every character on your faction and when they were last seen online.

Thanks for the explanation.

I do suppose it can give a fairly accurate picture after an extended period of monitoring.

They /who the heck out of Level, Class, Race and Zone to get a list of people. This list is aggregated by all the people using the addon. Each person using this can poll the entire server.

Yeah sadly Atiesh is pretty unbalanced, too many Alliance. The Horde community has felt pretty solid despite that though. The PvP going on in Tarren Mill was actually somewhat balanced earlier, which was unexpected but nice. I was curious to see if it had changed but it doesn’t look like it. Oh well. Thanks for the link! I’ll bookmark that one.

Interesting, based on that site tallying ALL realms only 19% of players are 60!

Yeah but a lot of 60s have bank alts and mules. The amount of characters under level 15 will naturally be high.

Yes, but it says 2.8 million players in total, only 531,000 of that are 60.

What’s crazy is how every server is horribly imbalanced but the reported population of all level 60s is pretty much 50/50.

Netherwind 54% Alliance 46% Horde hmm something is wrong. We are all getting camped all day from Horde raids everywhere, I’m not seeing the majority on our side…

I seen that and don’t buy it! Every FP every instance above 40 is being camped by Horde, even our towns like Theramore Menethil harbor have 5-6 Horde ganking daily.

What I usually do is go to https://wowclassicpopulation.com/activity, pick a realm and see the graph. It shows population timeline and you can compare peaks. The Characters tab is inaccurate since it shows total amount of characters created, not at the same time online.

yeah right

Hahaha, alli can’t accept their servers are balanced…what’s your excuse now?

Nope, it’s not

Their disclaimer:
‘Keep in mind that the data is only as good, as of how many people are uploading their data’

Unless the numbers are coming from Blizz, they wont be accurate at all.

It’s also important to factor in player interest. For example my server has significantly more Alliance (I knew this even without looking up any statistics, it’s just very noticeable). And yet our world PvP seems decently even. I’d say it’s just that our horde players like PvP more than the Alliance players do, and it creates relative balance. But that won’t be the case with every realm.
