I haven’t played in like 6 years or something? IDK -
I still remember the ice cave quest with the crazy elf where you save the woman’s brother. Then gathering the whole town together and flee a huge attack.
Saving the queen from being assassinated. The stories are just so well done in this game.
Seeing Morrowind for the first time was really cool.
The world and its quests are all current in a sense. You can go and explore Morrowind and be current no different than if you were exploring the Skyrim section.
All the materials that you find are unlimited if you pay for the monthly. As in infinite storage. And if I remember correctly you can have a certain amount collected each day anyway.
They’re auction houses ran by guilds.
There’s player housing. Various stances and moods your player can have. Much better customization of your gear in terms of appearance.
You have public dungeons.
:You have these epic PVP battles in cyrodiil. It takes forever to get from one side of the map to the other and it really requires you to plan way in advance.
I like the fact that there are three factions so there’s another angle.
:I’ve always felt like the lore and the stories having played Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim are superior to Warcraft. Their lore has not suffered at all compared to ours. You have essentially 16 or 17 super evil demon gods that run everything. And then you have the aedra that are just as important and have very little involvement at least outright.
Heck even one of the Kings became a God so to speak as Talos.
Then I have a lot of complaints.
There’s no swimming or diving.
There’s no flying and of course they have quote unquote banned levitation.
It is graphically more demanding of my system.
It feels like a console first.
None of the classes really feel distinct as in every class can have a healing component with an ultimate skill.
**Which in some ways is great if you’re a hardcore solo player
The PVP felt extremely unbalanced the moment I was placed into the CP ranks.
When it updates it takes forever because it like has to reinstall itself from scratch.
I’m so used to the organization and structure of Warcraft that it’s frustrating when I want to be able to do certain things.
tldr
If I had to choose I would stick with Warcraft. ESO is a great game and so is the elder scrolls series but they are much much better as single player games.
It is not WoW. It has its own … charm.
I play a little here and there.
It has its bright moments:
I like the transportation system Waystones and the “Travel to party member” kind of things. I like the ability to be just about anything you want to be. Do you want to be a sorcerer who fights using dual daggers? sure, you can do that.
It has its duller moments as well.
Mounts do not walk backward. If you run your mount to the edge of a cliff, you may think “Whoah!! ill just back up.” But no. Your mount walks forward off of the cliff as it makes a huge circle to turn around.
Combat is a hit or miss depending on what you like. Just imagine skyrim combat - thats it. The people who say “combat blows” like Onivoker, prefer tab-based combat like WoW. ESO does NOT do tab based combat, it does mouse-aimed combat to select enemies. More action-based real time fighting. I personally enjoy it all the same because not every game has to be a tab-based combat like wow, some people just hate change.
Yeah one big thing here is, people saying negative things, not all, but some…always go into eso, ffxiv, etc with a mindset of “wow 2.0 or better” and that simply is never good. When one tries another MMO - try it with a fresh mind, not something to be wow but better.
