Curious: Why do we care about Dragon Isles?

I think if we reempower the dragonflights that will give us the option to leave Azeroth and travel to other worlds to fight the void.

Well to be honest… I dont, AT ALL.
My interest (almost zero) went to minus something after the new korean/japanese class.

Yeah, I’m betting that it’ll all lead to something like that in an expansion or two.

The scene from LotR

The beacons of Minas Tirith. The beacons are lit! Gondor calls for aid!

First time, on the big screen, this was pretty awesome.

ALso, in LotR, they knew the protocol. One cannot ignore a lit beacon.

It is the Explorers League and The Reliquary that are running an expedition. That is the whole premise of the expac.

11.0 Xalatath shows back up giving us a warning of impending doom. Alleria begins to enter fugue states as something draws closer. A world not to far from Azeroth has become a staging point for an Old God, there’s still time to stop the world’s corruption before it spreads to ours. With the help of the Titan Facilities we are able to transport ourselves to their facilities that have fallen to ruin. It’s up to us!

Then why is there no archeology? That’s what they are both known for.

Is that true? I remember they mentioned Archeology isn’t making a comeback in 10.0

Missed opportunity that’s for sure.

The devs cut it out this xpac and last. It’s unpopular in its current state. It’s omission is unrelated to lore.

OP: You’re not supposed to ask that question.

Once, after farming BT, I asked someone why his tag is “The Betrayer”. Who did he betray, and why should we care? They couldn’t answer the question.

Is a island full of dragons and giants. What you need more?
This is pure classic medieval fantasy. This is what wow need right now. No complex lore, no big danger wanting destroy Azeroth, no cosmic forces. Just a simply and fun adventure.

They said during the live, very clearly: Alliance and Horde are not sending any soldier to dragon islands. Is the explorer guild of each faction who are going to the island.

Resources.

Every scrap of untouched land is an edge we can gain for either Horde or Alliance.

Manifest destiny?

Helping the dragons is relevant to protecting Azeroth as they are a major force.

well, both archaeology groups invited us personally, so why not?

The Nathrezim are probably up to something again. They know the denizens of Azeroth are gullible, and will fall for any ole tricks

I look at these “why do I care” questions as a writing prompt for my own internal RP.

I know my death knight owes Alexstraza a seriously big favour after that Ruby Sanctim incident in Legion. That’s the easy one.

This character just likes new islands to explore and likes to help out. Big bonus if it’s a nice colourful environment that isn’t a ten shades of black ruined wasteland…

My dwarf is will be stubbornly planning to do some archeology when he gets back to Azeroth. And if, for some strange reason, he can’t seem to remember how to dig with a shovel, he’ll hit something with it instead,

(and so on)

Dragons are cool. Seeing new places is fun.

Lorewise, the Dragons ask for us to come help. I’m happy to come help.

Not everyone wants to collect mounts my silly Orc Warlock friends. Druids don’t need mounts to get around.
