The literal worst spec in the game right now, demonology warlock, after 3 rounds of buffs to EVERY OTHER DPS SPEC, has not had 1 thing done to it? Is there a reason WoWs balancing team is so out of touch with reality?

I am being honest this wasnt bait, i don’t read the forums nor watch blizz update vids cuz Ian is so out of touch with the game I just get pissed off. Demonology is my favorite spec in the game and It just keeps getting ignored.

The warcraft team has major internal problems that prevents them from both communication and any sort of focused class development. So unless a developer randomly takes interest in your spec (like chris c. who reworked shadow priest right before he quit) youre spec is just guttered forever.

So, for my edification, the premise of Ion’s position is that there’s too many possible undesirable synergies within the Demo rotation that makes buffing them very difficult to ensure it’s not over the top?

Demonology was top DPS in WoD.
Then they nerfed it into oblivion (Along with Survival) for Hellfire Citadel and said they didn’t want people playing those specs.
Then came the reworks.

Demonology was good at the start of Legion and I actually really enjoyed its playstyle. Wouldn’t mind having that back.

Demonology is comfortably mid pack right now. It’s damage is fine. It’s just not as represented because affliction is better.

It’s mid pack, bro. Logs aren’t just from 1 mythic team. It’s from all logs. And if it’s some health scaling whatever, it’s something that every player could do. Weird.
We have a demon lock in our raid team. Does great damage. Not fantastic in M+, but passable.
Maybe your demonology lock logs are bad because you aren’t great at demonology

This right here. BFA+ SL demonology is just inferior to legion by leaps and bounds, and literally the only positive changes are the Imp being energy based rather than time based.
If it wasnt for affliction warlock being gigabuffed to the heavans in legion, demonology would of been the best warlock spec for the entire expansion. Demonic empowerment was cumbersome but aside from that the spec flowed great, the cooldowns worked, and the AoE was sublime with one of the best stacked AOE profiles in the entire game.
