I have Never owned an Ultra Wide Monitor, for me the Max Resolution I want/can use is 1080p. Do they scale or stretch or? I am not sure how they go “wider” if that makes sense.
I haven’t owned one myself either, but judging from my experience going from 4:3 → 16:10 → 16:9, once Windows detect your monitor’s capable resolution, it’s a global setting that becomes available as an option for any app/game that lets you select, as if support is built into them already.
I figured it wouldn’t be any different going to 21:9, as I never had to zoom, stretch, or see black space “fillers” when it comes to gaming. Watching/streaming movies on your PC, on the other hand, may be a different story…
I could be wrong though. Maybe games need to have that support, like today’s games vs games that came out long before such resolutions were a thing.
Thanks for the reply, my only concern is older or even some current Graphics cards won’t be stable or w/e with Ultra Wide Monitors, gonna try to buy one ASAP and try one out on my laptop…that MAY be the only way I’ll know unless I get more info…then if it does not work well I hope I can get a refund.
Thanks for the reply! Enjoyed your opinion(s).
running a 34 inch ultra wide here… can confirm it does scale. you see more of the sides
personally recommend
nice! is a 34 in ok for close or far/mid viewing? I play pretty close…or like too. I was thinking 25in at first…unsure.
I sit about 2 feet-ish from the monitor and I like it… but I’m guessing if you sit closer then the 29 inch ultra wide might be better… ?
if there is a Best Buy around your place and they have the ultra wides in stock then it’s probably worth it to just come in and check them out
currently sitting around the same from a 23in.
i wish i had a bestbuy here
ty! wish me luck!
ah ok… just checked out the dimension of the one I have. it’s 32.2 inch by 14.4 inch.
nice! i want one! hahahah
