Curiosity Stream is so refreshing!

I am kinda tired of using Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu and HBO, to be honest. A lot of their ideas for shows seem like filler and not engaging. So I discovered Curiosity Stream, and by God, it was so refreshing! Shows and educational movies that are not mindless popcorn entertainment improved my self-esteem.

When I was a kid in the 2000’s, I balanced my TV watching time with child entertainment networks like Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Disney Channel alongside more educational networks like Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, NatGeo, History Channel, Discovery Kids, and Science Channel, and that was years before all those shows became reality tv cesspits that compromised the educational purpose of those networks.
As I grew older, in my opinion, most shows I saw as a kid didn’t resonate with me as an adult, with the exception of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Bo-Bo-Bo-Bo. However, many shows I saw in the more educational networks still resonate with me as an adult.
So I feel blessed that Curiosity Stream made me feel much more enriched when watching tv shows and movies than Netflix, Amazon Prime, and other streaming platforms had for a long time.

Could you list some examples of movies on Curiosity Stream you consider good? I’m maybe a bit too picky about movies as most of the time the synopses bore me so I take a pass. I’ve found Netflix satisfying for series but difficult for movies.

There are three I could list as examples:

  1. Out of the Cradle: A movie doc that is about Humanity’s rise from Africa from simple apes to modern man as we know it.
  2. Battle of Kings: A movie that focuses on the Scottish war of independence against England, kinda like Braveheart but more historically accurate.
  3. Work in Progress: A doc that is about how is the workplace environment gonna be like in the near future with modern technology and the usage of remote work.

There’s more but that’s about what I have saw without giving spoilers.

Thank you! #2 sounds interesting to me. All this time I thought Curiosity Stream was only science or documentary shows. If I see a free preview at some point I’ll check it out.
