Ok so we have some tech smart peeps in here. I am possibly considering buyi g a new comp. Look g to keep it at 1000 I want an SSD, not sure if I should just do one main drive lime a 1 TB SSD or a regular hard drive and say a 250 gig SSD. I don’t want tk delete games.

What processor should I be looking at. I am como stupid so build g my own is not an option. Probably build on Ibuypower as that is my current pc and it has served me well for 6 plus years.

I normally build my own and you can get into some big bucks buying one with the latest and greatest processors and other accessories; I know you said you like ibuypower but before you sink that kind of money into a system compare the price of the one you’re looking at at ibuypower with the ones from TigerDirect where I have been doing business with for 15 years now.

Also check Newegg and other sites mentioned as you never know who is running a sale on the exact one you want and don’t rule out Walmart Online either with their price match guarantee.

Let me know how they compare in price.

P.S. I’ve always had the best of luck with all the components and systems that I have bought from them, I normally buy barebone units and build up from there but that’s just me.

My current one was purchased with parts from Amazon and Newegg.

I’ve been seeing people state on the net in the past year or so that 1TB is too small, or about to get to that point. An SSD is the way to go though.

I’ve got a 500GB External Hard drive I purchased from Walmart about7 years ago that ran me $54.00, I’m looking at a 5TB External Hard Drive at best buy that’s only $109.99, Man they sure have come down in price in just a short time.

I can only imagine what will be available in another 5-10 years from now.

Did the wife give in Mastadôn?

She said we can look into it.

I currently have a 1 TB HD and figure I can always expand later.

I have had this comp for 6 plus years, and my cousin has had 2 or 3 over the last 15 years or sk from them. They have all been solid. That is why I like them.

I am not married to them but I am a pretty brand loyal kind of dude. Not set in stone, but quality of experience goes a long way for me as well.

got mine from Staples, though my cousin helped me pick it out. it runs WoW (Standard and Classic) on a recommended setting of 7/10 (though i CAN run on 10/10) with at least 96-100+ fps.

he sold me on a new monitor (MUCH larger than the 19’ LED TV i was using, and MUCH better in terms of picture and sound quality too) new desk, speakers and gaming chair as well.

on a side note, i’m hooked on Animal Crossing. i was warned its addictive and i still took that chance. :stuck_out_tongue:

My high school guidance counselor never told us this was a possible career path…

not everyone can be one…but those who pass the tests and trials can become one…even fewer still go on to greatness as Aardvark Congratulators. the others? they merely become simple congratulators.

no offense, but your high school guidance counselor is close minded then. :stuck_out_tongue:

All the high school councilors at my school seemed to care about getting people into college. If you didn’t qualify to go straight to a university then they tried to get you signed up for English and Math at the junior colleges.

Yup. My high school counselor seemed to care a little more, and did help some people with trade schools.

But yours is a common theme. It always starts with getting people into the right colleges. Trades/apprenticeships/etc were left for the kids who weren’t going to qualify for anything other than the local open-entry community college.
