CRZ incoming?

Has anyone else noticed that when you whisper someone it shows their server next to there name?

Is CRZ just going to be implemented on classic forever servers to combat “dead servers” or do you think they will implement it in TBC too?

I hope not. Toxicity will rise 100000000%

I have mentioned this in a few other posts but it seems like that would be the direction they are heading in.

  1. They are implementing server names on your in game name to allow for you to keep your name.
  2. They are making everyone guildless on the classic servers
  3. Its the easiest solution for them to keep these servers as populated as possible because they have this technology from retail.

IMO, it would have been best to make a pvp/pve server for each region and let those be the primary servers for the forever classic ere realms. But i’m just a subscriber and blizzard is our lord.

In this regard, I would never say never. CRZ is absolutely a possibility. Remember, we got Classic with CRBGs from day 1.

My guess it is so you know who is from what realm in pvp. Isn’t that cross realm in TBC?

My guess is this is for connected realms and not CRZ. They are not the same thing.

Thinking this is Possible situation for “server mergers” Retail style where you keep your name but it has a “Server name” next to it in chat.

That’d be “connected realms.”

This might help out servers with significant faction imbalance.

I hope they implement it sooner and add a dungeon finder. Grinding out weird questlines that sometimes go nowhere or send you to 4 different zones while people boost their alts is horrid. Not to mention nobody does dungeons once they acquire the gear they need from it because it can take an hour just to form a group and get to the dungeon.

yeah whatever they call that in retail, its mergers with a blizzard twist…

…but cross-realm BGs were a thing in vanilla retail, just not until 1.12

I mentioned this 2 Months ago and tried to get people to talk about it more, but I guess nobody wants to talk about it. My guess is (and this is just an assumption) seems that “most” (exaggerating) people are OK with Connected Realms for Perma Servers :frowning:

they mentioned in qa that they wanted to connect the classic era realms so that there’s enough people to do stuff. Doubt it’s for the tbc realms.

Don’t know why they didn’t do this. Make new servers for the permanent phase 6 characters and move them there. Then, if you decide to do fresh servers, you can reuse the names of the current servers.

That’s not what they said, at all. They didn’t say they’re going to CRZ/Connect Realm/Virtual Realm, etc. They said it was a possibility to help alleviate the Perma Server populations (when it gets to that point), but they did (also) mention at looking to do something else OTHER than that. One thing for certain, was the names being shared having those Realm Names slapped next to their names to differentiate Bob 1 and Bob 2.

Until they become Perma.

way to nitpick lmfao

No, you were inferring/implying incorrect information.

They never mentioned anything about inserting CRZ/Connected Reals/Virtual Realms, etc. so people can “do stuff”. They were talking about Names, and how players can still have their names. And tackling the issue for people to “do stuff”, at a later time (because I assume they’re taking into consideration those against CRZ/Connected Realms/Virtual Realms, etc.)

EDIT: They even mentioned “any Mergers” which suggests (to me) they MIGHT (keyword) consider ACTUAL Server Merges but slap Realm Names next to people’s names that share the same name to avoid conflicts. So, I’m hoping any shared character names get Server Names slapped next to their names, and Perma Servers won’t be CRZ’d/Connected Realmed/Virtual Realmed, etc.

But, we’ll see.

whatever floats your boat

I’d be happy to listen to some Meeting or Interview where they ACTUALLY said they are GOING to CRZ/Connect Realm/Virtual Realm, etc. Perma Servers, and my fight on this issue will come to an end (and, I’ll finally have my answer). Until then, reality dictates that that hasn’t been said…yet.

It’s done this, at minimum, since battlegrounds opened. And occasionally even before that if someone whispered you that was not in your guild or party and not in your same zone.
