Hello all. I know we are all waiting for power word update to come and in the meantime, I feel like I have an interesting suggestion for how they could slightly change Crystalline Reflection to be a more interesting and powerful pick.
First of all, I want to agree with Automatic Jak that the reflection should heal through atonement for disc. The heal it gives just feels very underwhelming and the damage it provides is not really worth getting the nodes before it in the alpha tree even though disc is the really the only one who can make good value of this capstone.
My suggestion is that instead of it only working with power word shield, it should work for any type of shield affect that you apply. This would make it a lot more appealing because (speaking about disc again) it would be a good reason to take something like spirit shell for mythic plus and even add a lot more value to trinkets that shield allies despite them being so lackluster recently. What do you all think?

Maybe if the brought back divine aegis, but adding the affect to spirit shell just still feels super underwhelming. What they should do is make pw:shield worth the mana it costs by making it actually absorb damage. Reflective shield will never do damage when our shields stop half of one attack from one mob or player.

Reflective shield on spirit shell would be incredibly overpowered in raid fights and just underwhelming in other places.
It would also force Disc into a Spirit Shell raid build that isn’t particularly good for healing but does massive boss damage.
Like what you’re saying for raid is essentially: Disc should do 300% of their current damage in every burst CD window (100% normal burst + 20% of 50% spread over 20 people = 300%), and 200% of the healing they do currently. Though the healing would also just overheal since disc puts on barriers before the damage in a raid fight.
Honestly, just turning the reflective shield into atonement is enough. That’s a significant boost to both PW:S (because it would spread that healing to everyone with atonement) but also a huge boon to rapture windows in dungeons.

I played with it a bit. It just needs to do a lot more dps.
It was pretty marginal worse than shadowcore oil. Like not even 100 dps. Let alone closer to like 1 or 2k then just maybe.
These results indicate low gear score or very few casts of PW:S more than anything. When I’m playing with reflective it can easily do ~15% of my DPS. But I’m also using rapture quite often when I do, and cutting out a lot of radiance casts.
It’s not enough to be amazing and really isn’t worth the legendary slot over TPO or Twins, but it’s a solid gain as a talent.

I only tested it in solo play really and I probably didnt use PW:S enough for it to work out there either.
I feel like its a bit deceptive, does the damage kick in after the shield drops??? because it should be happening during sheild and not after the sheild pops — like I was expecting to pull like 12 mobs and PW:S or rapture myself and see some seriously decent damage between that and SW:P and I also feel like it should do 20% of the dmg that the mob does to u and not 20% of PW:S absorb in dmg or whatever it is doing. Honestly it should do a lot more. It should be discs #1 seriously cool toy.
