Is Wow gold or JSP gold considered a crypto currency? Also what are your thoughts on crypto currency? I feel like a wise and or shrewd Goblin/Gnome wow player might know as much if not more about real world money than your average stock broker… :man_shrugging:t2:

Gold is a virtual currency, but I would not consider it a cryptocurrency.

Virtual currency otherwise we’d have have the IRS on top of us in game for taxes and I hate taxes…

Cryptocurrency isn’t money, it’s a commodity.

When you can go to the corner sandwich shop or the local taco truck and buy food with bitcoin, then it’ll be real money. Until then, it’s like gold, silver, oil, or any other commodity.

Not really. The functional definition of real money is that damn near everyone takes it.

Got it… I’m looking to invest in some crypto and feel like games being one of the best industries in the world atm there might be something to it. I’m just trying to learn more.

It’s got a place in your investment portfolio if you’re OK with the risk. I don’t feel a particular need to go wading in those waters, but my time horizon to retirement is probably closer than yours.
