In another post, somebody thought it was weird to cry over a game. OP said it was just a figure of speech but… Has anyone besides me cried over a game?
I think there’s been a few times/games I’ve shed a tear over. The moment in Starcraft: Into the Void when Zaratul gives his life to free his brother, Artanis, from Amon’s grasp (mind control) got me really emotional. Brother v brother
Edit: Jaina’s in game cinematics / normal cinematics that go with her BFA storyline got me watery eyed too

Don’t you guys not have phones?
Not really tears of sadness, but a whole lot of tears of rage.

Nah.
Unless you count Lufia. Those games were extremely depressing, but so awesome.
Wish I could figure out a way to play them.

The Night Elves get so crapped on so often … We never gain anything either.
There have been a few games with some pretty heavy story with or without cinematics that plucked at my arteries, or whatever heart strings are supposed to be. I wouldn’t call that crying over a game though, but rather, the intent of the game to try and elicit a sad emotional response and succeeding at that to a degree.
If you say someone is crying over a game, it sounds more like someone being upset that someone else won the rare mount that dropped.

Never from WoW or any game, but from movies plenty of times. Same idea.
Every Overwatch cinematic pulls those strings. It’s a good thing OW uses cartoon animations and D.Va acts so perky … that’s a devastated world filled with PTSD heroes
Nothing wrong with crying over games. Or other media.
Heck one of my fav bits of anime is Devilman Crybaby. An anime that points out how crying is a good thing quite a lot.
Humans are built to be very social and empathetic to each other since we stay in ‘packs’. This is also why animals like pet rats can really tell when you’re upset. Seriously without fail with my pet rats if I was upset and crying they’d throw a fit in their cage until I let them out. Just “Dangit human is sad. Lemme out so I can snuggle!”

Well. Had. They crossed the rainbow bridge awhile ago. Rats are awesome but they have a very short life. 2 years on average. 3 to 4 if you’re very lucky.

Only time WoW has gotten to me emotionally is the Ysera death cinematic.

All the dang times I sat thru that cinematic for alts thinking “okay not gonna cry this time NOPE HERE COME THE TEARS”
I feel like a jerk if I skip that cinematic so I don’t.

I don’t think I’ve ever cried over something that’s happened in a game. I’ve been hit hard with feels from time to time, but don’t think I’ve ever shed tears over anything.
Getting emotionally attached to fictional characters is weird. It’s a sign that you have a hard time separating fantasy from reality. Although other then a sign of being a little crazy there is also a good sign which says you are a empathic person. Something this world lacks and needs more of.
I know a lot of people cried over Ysera. I didn’t. But I do know some people that have. I personally have never been one to cry when something happened in a video game or movie though.
Then cut to me for comparison that still cries during Final Fantasy 7 or the death of Littlefoot’s mom
Fun fact with this scene. You know how Littlefoot talks to a dinosaur after that scene? Spielberg did that on purpose because he checked child psychologists to see if this was too traumatic or not. They said it would need something a little quiet and calming afterwards. And some of the wounds to the mothers back were not shown as they were originally planned. It’s why you only see her back being bitten in shadow.

I remember LittleFoot. Did you know Ducky’s voice actor got beaten to death by her dad ?:C
