Someone in my guild put two SRs on Chalice and got like 4 rolls in one run. What’s the catch? What am I missing? Why doesn’t everyone do that? Am I a sucker to roll on Consecrate pieces?
In pugs it’s kinda a rat move and ur RL should of only allowed him to do that to one of them. In a guild it’s up to y’all’s loot rules and I can’t really give any input on that.
dang i asked the question wrong. dont get hung up on the two SRs. whats the catch on putting up ONE SR on chalice?
Essentially u roll an SR until you win a chalice
I don’t really understand your question. Are you asking about the difference between the tier and the chalice for the purpose of gearing here? Idk what happened with the loot in your pug, but essentially:
Tier tokens are gotten earlier in the raid, have class restrictions, but can only work for their tier slot specifically and require nothing else.
Chalices don’t show up until Reborn Council, have no class restrictions, can be used for any piece, but need a crafted piece to pair with it.
Essentially if you know you can kill council, and need a token from a later boss, chalices are better provided you can get ahold of the crafted piece easily enough.
Because there is no class requirement, there is more competition. Class restricted tokens will often have less total people rolling on them. But you might not see your token.
Overall for harder to get tokens, a chalice is a safer bet. But mileage may vary.
The two guilds I run with that host PUGs both HR chalices to the guild and give them to guildies who are gearing up. In fact, I think a lot of guilds HR Chalice.
SR’ing Chalice is a great angle if you allowed to for two reasons: A) not everyone even knows you can SR a chalice since a lot of raids won’t let you and B) a chalice always drops so you won’t ever burn an SR on something that doesn’t drop.
There’s no catch really. If they allow it, go for it.
In our guild the three chalices are roll off to people who reserved tier and didn’t end up winning any. They are not an item we let people reserve.
