I’ve heard lots of good things about this game and from what i’ve looked up about it, it seems like I’d enjoy it, that being said it’s a paradox game so it has dlc worth more than x10 the game.

So calling all players of this game, which version should i buy? i see one version (imperial) that says it has 65 items I don’t own and that is 131 dollars) that seems complete right? but looking down at the DLC individually I see only 31 items that buying separate would be 152, how is half the content more expensive? how can one version have over double the amount of content listed for the game?

It’d recommend you just jump straight to 3, but if you’re adamant on playing CK2 (and nothing wrong with that, I spent lots of time on it) DLC you should get are ones that unlock other cultures or add gameplay mechanics.
I can’t remember all of them, but they should be Sword of Islam (playable Islamic nations), Old Gods (Pagan nations), Rajas of India (self explanatory), Holy Fury. There’s more but I can’t remember them all. Other stuff are portraits, soundtracks, unit textures- nothing you really need.

You should buy whatever gives you those culture unlocks.
