I’d rather get a feral or a shaman, or a paladin than use someone who will blame others for his mistakes while ninjaing the loot.
Just because you CAN use something, doesn’t mean you SHOULD. The rule of thumb is that melee gets priority on melee gear, healers on healing gear, hunters on ranged etc. If no one in the group needs it then you can roll, but to roll need on a melee wep when a rogue needed it is poor etiquette.

Welcome to Classic. To each his own. I don’t care if its better for the rogue. If it has stats that benefits me then I will need it. Simple.
This is why Blizzard changed the loot system and people are starting to understand why.
Still don’t know why people get all bent of shape over lowbie drops.

They are either lowbies themselves, or the want to talk about how bad hunters are or defend hunters.
These types of interactions are what makes communities. They aren’t all positive experiences. If this were BfA this exchange would have never happened because there is almost no interaction at all. I would 100% take this negative interaction over having none at all any day.

Rogues are 100% melee. Hunter should always pass melee to the rogue.
No. Your crap attitude is why it was changed.
All of my guilds and their members understood that the rogue gets first option over the melee. Hunters use melee as a secondary weapon.

Yea…well sorry to break it to you but according to loot rules If i can use it, i have rights to roll on it. In fact everyone in the group does because everyone participated. No one is entitled to loot 
It’s not a question of “entitlement” it’s a question of “cooperation.” You wouldn’t last five minutes in any of my guilds with that attitude.

Almost spit out my water I laughed so hard at this because you’re wrong. Nah dude. Most guilds won’t deal with this attitude. They didn’t in vanilla and they won’t now. And the ones that do aren’t worth a crap.

Does it go both ways? I remember Hunters getting their weapons yoinked and nobody caring. They’ll either shrug it off or tell them to suck it up… or worse.
If its a guild run it is a different story, but if its a pug, then its fair game. This game is about stats. If it wasn’t then hunters would get priority on every bow regardless of stats. Take strikers mark for example from MC, its better for warriors and rogues than it is for a hunter.

F that group and your guild. It’s a weapon, you can use, it benefits you. Unless you are currently holding something better, you should roll need. I would have. In fact I will, because I’m trying to dual wield those now, unless I get that Polearm.
Survival hunter does a lot of melee. Lots of slows, lots of freezes. You require a good weapon. No rogue deserves it any more than you.
And show me something else that is as good or better for a Hunter to get , at that level, that is available NOW.
Leave that dumbass guild.
