Crossroads Cinematic Analysis

Here this british guy is doing a really good analysis of this cinematic and the implications that surround about the past, the present and the near future of the factions and Sylvanas. I hope you enjoy it as i did.

Does this mean the Alliance forgives me again? I promise not to blight another city or resurrect another body…cross my heart and hope to undie(/grin)

No because you are Forsaken and will always be looked down upon as a blemish that no one wants or needs. No in honesty I doubt that the Forsaken would be forgiven by the Alliance given how loyal the Forsaken are to the Banshee Queen. That isn’t to say that all the Forsaken should be lumped in on that.

Go in that corner and think about what you have done young man.

Not once in that video did he mention why we SHOULD even care about Thunderbluff. But I guess neither did Blizzard.

That’s simple, because the good guys care about people, and they are not going to allow more bloodshed from Sylvanas. Also they are all friends now (the leaders in the cinematic) and friends supports each other.

And BTW, pretty sure that Thunder Bluff will be just a distraction.

Cool, Jaina is friends with Baine, Thrall, and Saurfang.

That doesn’t mean I am. It also doesn’t mean I am friends with all their fellow horde members who committed a literal genocide and started this war to begin with.

I have a mind of my own, and so does the rest of the Alliance. And so does the rest of the horde. They chose to follow Sylvanas, chose to commit multiple war crimes and attacks on civilian populations, and continue to do so.

There will be no peace as far as I am concerned. That’s been tried multiple times now, it doesn’t work and it’s been the same side that has caused it to fall apart every single time. This fact cannot be ignored any longer.

What’s the Einstein quite about the definition of insanity being repeating the same thing over and over expecting different results? That’s where we are at. Peace is not an option. Sylvanas and every Horde member who served her needs to die. They made their choice.

Anduin and Jaina can join them for all I care. Because if they are willing to work with and forgive the horde, then they are knowingly allowing for the Horde to do the same thing in the future, killing more and more innocents, like they do EVERY SINGLE TIME. Which will make it just as much Jaina’s and Anduinss fault as the Horde when it inevitably happens.

So, since they seem to actively want to cause harm to the Alliance by allowing it, they can join the Horde on the other side and die with them.

Because-that’s-what-friends-and-good-guys-do.

They forget, they recognize their own mistakes and the mistakes of their friends. Also all of them are actually good people who were lost and confused, but now… NOW, they know what is the right thing to do: defeat Sylvanas reign and end this war.

I swear to god I feel like I have seen this before…
When was it… god its on the tip of of my tongue but I just can’t remember for the life of me.

Well they better fetch those dragon balls and wish everything back before BFA.

Then I congratulate them on their moral epiphanies. It does not absolve them of their sins though, and it does not free them from the consequences of their actions. They may feel bad about it, but they are genocidal murderers. Period.

they can feel however they want after the fact, but actions speak the loudest and cannot be undone. How many murdered and burned alive children does their bad feelings and moral epiphanies bring back from the dead?

None? Zero? Oh; then they still deserve zero pity and no forgiveness for their actions. They deserve death.

Gonna go there!

And this is why Theramore got bombed. Why Teldrassil was burned down. Because there will always be people pushing to continue the conflict. People say they want the conflict to end, but they never really do. They just want to cause the other side to have a new reason to fight.

Notice who did the attacking in each and every one of your examples. There lies the problem. There can be no peace with those who will always want for more war.

Sorry, but your opinion doesn’t count. We are just the random hero #3857261.

I can imagine what will say us our “leader” in order to get the quest to save Thunder Bluff, could be something like that:

“Name of the Character” we need you more than ever, the Horde the Alliance and whole Azeroth, you must stop Sylvanas and stop the incoming destruction of Thunder Bluff."

Then the Alliance and Horde players will can choose say some of this replys:

1-“I want the best for my faction, i’ll take this duty with pride and honor”
2-“What the…? are you kiding me? i’m not going to be parte of this s***, you traitor scum”

And you will get the next reply, not matter the answer you choosed:

“I knew that i could count with you “Name of the Character”. Now the mages will teleport you to Mulgore, be ready hero!”

If you choosed the reply number 1 you will teleported, but if you did choose the answer number 2 you will have the chance to say something else:

“Are you deaf? I said that i’m not going to be part of this.”

Then the leader will tell you:

“Sorry, but the mages are already finishing the spell, and we don’t want make a waste of their mana. Good luck!”

And then you see the loading screen and you appear in Mulgore.

its the one thing the Horde has as a story gimick.
Come next expansion its going to be everybody running around with an Alliance hero or racial character to beat some new baddy.

Faction wars are the only time the Horde is relevant when they do their “rawr me smash” fantasy.
Come next expansion we will barely have to put up with Horde characters and story, thankfully.

Notice that you and the person I quoted are both Alliance players protesting against the idea of peace, because it’s not peace under your conditions.

Thank you. You showcase my point quite succinctly.

Stormwind, Thunder Bluff… A defensive raid would be fun, actually. Going after Garrosh felt so anti-climactic. There was a bunch of skirmishing and questing, and then he turns Org into his murder-fort and says “Come at me”.

Then just sits there until he gets pried out like a stubborn dead battery.

As to the faction war, I’m done with it. The game will be fine without it. Don’t have to do anything dramatic at all, just say “Yeah, we’re at peace. Doesn’t mean you can charge into our cities and demand bank service.”, maybe set up a a few more neutral outposts and what not, but most importantly?

Spend their resources telling a story that isn’t delicately balanced around the faction narrative, and having to thread competing experiences against one another. Instead, spend them giving everyone a solid story.

Maybe you haven’t played through the Horde story arc in BfA so far, but the Horde indeed have a choice to either follow Sylvannas, or to betray her.

Not everyone has chosen her, and there are even faction leaders who have chosen to betray her like Baine, Lor’themar, and Thalyssra. You group everyone together as if being Horde means following Sylvannas.

I agree on this point though. I hope I run into you in WM at some point so I can hunt you like the rabid dog you are

Even the ones that chose to betray her were complacent after we left the NE homeland in a messy blighted ruin. All except for Saurfang, but even he decided to double back for the counter attack at Lordaeron.

It took a forsaken fanboy to state the obvious.

Yea, that’s only after Sylvanas starts turning on all of them. Before that they all actively and willingly participated in Teldrassil, Brennadam, and more. They all followed her until it was no longer convenient to do so to save their own skins, cause we all know the Alliance is going to win this in the end.
