Cross-server work orders

with the adding of cross-server trading, is there an ETA on when we might be able to do cross-server work orders as well? my friends and i play on different servers, but it would be nice to be able to craft things for them. looking for a blue post response on this.

I concur. I get not having Public work orders be cross-realm, but being able to send private work orders to people you have as Battle.net Tag friends on other servers would be a huge Quality-of-Life improvement.

As long as they re-enable the requirement that you need to include all the materials yourself. I play on a server where there’s one particular waste of oxygen ‘player’ who insists on posting hundreds of work orders with sub 100g ‘commissions’ on orders with none of the 1000-5000g worth of materials supplied. I REALLY don’t want to deal with another fifty people doing the same garbage.

Same, BS on one server would.be lovely to send yourself crafting orders. Especially when the price of mats/recipes varies so wildly from server to server.

I can guarantee you that the price of crafting materials is the exact same on every single NA server

Mats yes, recipes? Not a chance i bought a BS plan on Eredar a few days ago for 6K and it was 35K on Darkspear, now down to 23K

I would like to see cross-server work orders. I also play with friends on other servers and we would greatly appreciate being able to utilize our different professions to craft items for each other.

I would expect that public order not to be included in this endeavor. However, allowing personal work orders to be completed cross-server makes a lot of sense considering we are allowing trading items.

Secondly, we need to start requiring rare quality materials and artisan’s mettle be provided by the submitter of the order for crafting tables. Order submitters are submitting orders with low-value commissions and no materials that cost over 10 times the commission.

Yes, I know it’s an old topic that’s been buried for about nine months. While I’m not normally one to do this, I feel like this does need to be back at the top as this is very much a relevant discussion.

Honestly? I think Blizzard just needs to say the hell with it and allow personal work orders to be sent cross faction AND cross server. I can understand keeping the public orders locked, but there really is no reason to have the personal orders locked up, especially with guilds being cross faction as well as fully cross server now.

As it currently stands, if I were to bring my cross server alts into my primary guild, I’m SOL as far as putting in work requests with my guild. Same with my Horde characters as my guild is primarily an Alliance guild. This is clearly the one area where I feel the work order system needs an overhaul.

cross server work orders work for guild orders.

I think it’s only a matter of time until personal ones work as well

I would be okay if work orders were just extended to include my warband wherever they are.

I agree. While I would like personal cross realm work orders, especially if you’re bnet friends (I know Icarii-Sargeras exists, I’m talking to them =P ), but I would be happy with even just a tab for warband orders.

I 'm not a coder/dev, but I would think it could be coded similarly to guild orders or something.

…what in the hell happened to your character portrait…? O_o

That aside – at the very least, you’re able to do cross-server work orders via Guild Orders… but that requires you to be in the same guild as the crafter, which obviously isn’t ideal if the crafter and person who needs something crafted are in two different guilds…

Gnome, known issue on the forums.
For whatever reason, despite it NOT being visible in the character portrait on almost every race, our character models are actually standing there with their weapons drawn. Because I’m a gnome however, the height and angle generally has the main hand weapon getting ever so slightly into the frame in some manner, and it becomes much worse depending on the size of the weapons (daggers vs. 1H weapons vs. 2H weapons) and what enchantment effect you have on the weapons.

I use two Phantom Blades with Winter’s Grasp…yeah…

Anyway, going to take the word of everyone here that it does indeed work so long as the characters on different servers are in the same guild. Bit apprehensive however as I have a character from Agamaggan in a guild hosted on Turalyon. Trying to drop stackable items into the guild bank if there is an existing stack always gives me an error message about not being able to combine stacks from different servers. I have to physically drag and drop my items into an empty space in order to deposit them, at which point I then need to combine the stacks within the bank itself.

Needless to say, that’s an absolute PITA when I have large amounts of reagents I want to contribute to the bank.
