Cross-Realm BGs

I’ve looked through the Q&A and didn’t see this. Do we know which servers will be linked together when BGs go live in classic?

I assume all of them will be linked together. That is how it should be, I would say.

That seems fair. It’ll keep queue times even on every server.

While I share your enthusiasm, I’m a little worried about being paired with his fan bois that just roll over for him anytime he enters a BG.

I take it this will include Oceania being grouped with NA. If so I can see people being mad when their ping jumps to 200 for American players when a BG has an Oceania host and vice versa.

I don’t think Blizzard has ever grouped Oceania servers with NA servers, but they might change that for classic. Guess we’ll have to wait for BGs to go live.

My region has only one pvp server. So, no cross server for me.

PvP and PvE realms can be grouped together for cross-realm battlegrounds.

There won’t even be a need for cross realm BGs for a while. With layering on an already over populated realm, it’ll make plenty of its own BGs. This is a concern for later down the road if a realm starts to empty out.

No different to retail, it’s not that bad, but we played years with high ping, only the wod kids will get sad.

Battlegrounds aren’t slated to release until Phase 3 so layering should be long gone… as will overpopulated servers I hope. Honestly they’ll probably make the final decision as to which realms to connect based on how the server populations end up being balanced

Yea they sure did. I played on an oceanic server and you would get a mix of oceanic server pings and US server pings. I couldnt really put a number on it for you. I am told that they attempt to match oceanic BGs but if this isnt possible, it is matched to a US BG to improve queue times. But i have no idea if this is accurate.
