Reminder that besides turning BGs unfun and shallow, it also makes achieving a high rank near impossible since you’re competing with people who spam (and dodge) premades 24/7 due to account sharing and general poopsocking.
All for queues a few minutes faster and the entitled mentality that queues should pop as soon as you click them, as if waiting was something new in this game.

A bunch of servers are attempting Rag and my server barely has enough 60’s to fill a single scholo run.
Being matched against servers who have had Nef on farm for months while my server still hasn’t even killed rag will be incredibly unfun and unfair.
Cross-server BGs cannot exist in a pre-TBC honor system of WoW. The way raid progression and servers work are completely different than retail.
I’m sure even TBC was really unfun and unfair to be fighting people with warglaives while your server didn’t even have a Kael kill, honestly. I just don’t remember it.
Well, I remember those queue times and I have exactly zero desire to do that again. I think this is a case of the nostalgia glasses being on. Think it through. The normal queue time I saw was over an hour. It is a fact that if Blizz were to remove CRBG’s then BG’s would be dead on arrival. A lot of players that were young or in college are all now adults with jobs and often families… if it was hour long queue’s back then then imagine how it would turn out now. No thanks. I understand the sentiment of rivalry… but no thanks. Feed that rivalry with raiding towns and capitol cities.
I agree with the OP 1000 percent. We want the old battlegrounds, and we don’t want cross real battlegrounds!

Blizz Reconsider!!! It’s 100% about rivalries! In Cross-Realm Battlegrounds you just go fight random classes were as in server-specific battlegrounds you go fight a name! – think about it

Even though I’m on one of the largest realms, I think CRBGs should be a thing for sure. I feel for those on the smaller realms who will be suffering with the horrible queue times to get into a BG as I was there before. Besides, i remember the days where we saw guilds from other realms and knew we were in for a real battle.
Cross realm is dumb.

participation would drop and keep dropping until the queue times are endless with out crbg, not many are going to wait 2+ hour queues for a bg , they simply would go to retail and the 10 min queues or simply not join bgs. gl getting a bg in period on the majorly imbalanced servers faction wise.

Removing cross-realm battlegrounds would also solve server imbalance for pretty much every server
There is little incentive for being the under played faction. But if battlegrounds are server specific, you almost WANT your faction to be under represented.
This is a good point to consider within the context of free transfers off of high pop servers. If server is 70/30 and offering free xfers, more likely to have 30% faction xfer off.
If players on the 70% faction get 2hr BG queues while 30% faction get insta queue pop then people from the 70% faction will want to xfer off.
I doubt it , I wouldn’t give up my favorite faction , guild and friends for a bg, the queue time would just be horrible without cross bgs

That’s the point though. They wouldn’t be horrible. Just horrible for people who are rolling around stomping the other faction on an imbalanced server.
How about if they did do crossrealm, they only grouped similar servers. Group all the 70-80% horde servers in the same battle group, all the relatively even servers in another, and all the 70-80% alliance in the last one.
You don’t like that do you? That’s because you want all of the benefits of being the dominant faction without any of the downsides.

The faction with overwhelming numbers on a pvp server should suffer bg queues. They shouldnt get to virtually play on a pve server and get instant queues.
I always did my mine farming or essence farming winterfall farming whatever talking on vent waiting for it to pop. I really preferred it that way.
Once they changed it your pretty much get stuck in the city and felt the need to never leave it for the first time.
